Chapter 3 - Red Moon's ringing bells

*NARRATOR'S POV*

"Father, can I sleep with a man?" said once by a common man.

"Fool, are you listening to yourself?" said once by a wise man.

Crown Prince Isaiah was still mesmerised by the beauty that he met earlier and even had a dream about him. But then he always remembers later that he is a crown prince and he can't possibly go around chasing the beauty like a love-struck idiot.

Currently, he is having a pleasant tea party with his father, Emperor Gabriel. To be very exact, it WAS pleasant until Crown Prince Isaiah asked that question.

But unfortunately, Emperor Gabriel was actually invested now. Invested in knowing what had happened to his son, who doesn't really care about these kinds of things.

"What happened?" Emperor Gabriel asked in a slightly amused tone.

"Nothing... for the most part," said Crown Prince Isaiah.

Of course, the Emperor didn't really buy that answer and insisted further.

"Come on, I am your father. Maybe I might just find the solution?"

"Fine... but don't tell Mom..." said Crown Prince Isaiah in the most serious voice he had ever used.

"That... alright. Now tell me."

"People from Kingdom Aleria mixed poison in my red wine, and some idiots came and told me about it. But when the guards were taking them away... a beautiful man appeared... I was not able to capture him... But he was a beauty for sure..."

By the time Crown Prince Isaiah had finished, Emperor Gabriel had already gone through 50 shades of emotions. He sighed in a defeated manner as he said,

"First of all, the assassination attempt... Why didn't you report it to me? And secondly, do you mind giving more details about this man?"

Crown Prince Isaiah sighed and said, "Father, you know that I am poison-resistant, and as for the beauty... He had long brown hair and bells around his arms, legs, and waist... and he was very fast and possibly strong too... I mean, he carried three people by their collars..."

Emperor Gabriel went dead silent for a long time. His complexion was as pale as a ghost. Crown Prince Isaiah didn't think much about it at first, but later he also betrayed a face of slight nervousness.

"Father, what is wrong?" he said.

Emperor Gabriel, still pale as a ghost, said in a calm but slightly surprised voice, "Son... Do you know about Crimson Moon Waterfall?"

Crown Prince Isaiah just shook his head and said, "Are they someone I should know?"

Emperor Gabriel's complexion got better as he sighed. He took a small sip of his tea and said in a very calm tone,

"Crimson Moon Waterfall, also called the Red Moon. Well, just know that if you ever hear those bells again, either run or call the special forces."

Crown Prince Isaiah couldn't help but seem surprised. He sipped his tea a little before asking, "But why?"

Emperor Gabriel just sighed and nodded. He stood up to leave when in his weak voice he said,

"I know you're not the type to let go of things if it's interesting. But, Isaiah. Not him. Just... only not him."

"Why, Father? Why? Isn't he just an assassin at best?" Isaiah seemed shocked. His face twisted in amusement and annoyance.

"No." Sharp, cold, and rejective. This was a tone that Isaiah had never heard from Emperor Gabriel.

"Even if you don't tell me, I am going to find him anyway."

Emperor Gabriel sighed at Isaiah's determination. Yet, when he looked at Isaiah, his eyes spoke of something else. Something between nostalgia and quiet fear.

Isaiah just stood up to leave when a voice rang through his ear.

"Never chase a butterfly who has strong wings, Isaiah." With that, Emperor Gabriel left.
