(Miranda Pov)
Miranda sits on the other side of the table staring at "Alex" , his bitch black hair that seemed to absorb light and his crimson eyes that made a tremor run though her body at the memory of what happened earlier, how his flesh unraveled and what looked back at her. Now he was sitting there with a soft smile on his face that gave her whiplash from the sheer difference in her earlier experiences with him.
"Alex" then pushes Eve's book over to Miranda who immediately picks it up with care, cradling it on her chest and continues saying.
" I know that saying things without anything to show for it is a bad thing… so I have decided to give something to you. I hope you find it useful."
"Alex" then snaps his fingers and a silver book appears in his hand which he pushes across the table to Miranda.
Miranda then looks at the silver book noticing the engravings of skulls, roses and eyes that seemed to look at her,then she reads the title outloud.
"Vessel creation for dummies."
Miranda then looks up and stares at Alex, noticing the smirk on his face, and feels that she wants to punch him in the face.
But instead she focused on the book, cracking it open and was hit with a flood of knowledge that crawled into her mind and rooted itself deep, filling the gaps in her knowledge of genetics, and how the mind works and how a vessel/body needs to be prepared before the mind can be properly placed inside of it so ego death does not occur during the revival process.
' I know what I was doing wrong now I can bring her back even better than before. Eve won't have to worry about the disease or not being strong enough as well as aging.'
Miranda noticed that she only flipped open a single page of the book and was about to continue to the next page but before she flipped the page.
Alex says " I wouldn't do that if I were you should let what you currently have in your mind settle and put it into use before continuing."
Miranda watched as Alex's posture shifted with one hand on his chin the other hand reaching out as a golden book formed in it.
"You see the silver book and this golden book that I have in my hand are basically my comprehension of a subject made in a way that humans can understand it in a short period of time in a way that sticks." Alex said
"This is not without flaws. However, as I've not had enough time to completely refine the process, if you were to push yourself and go to the next page.without properly digesting the previous Knowledge it can damage your mind more." he continued saying
Miranda processing what Alex said and decided to stop after noticing the headache she had as well as the blood flowing from her nose.
' That shouldn't be possible.This is a representation of my mind. It's not possible for me to have a nosebleed unless this is a representation of the mind unless my mind took damage from the flood of knowledge from the book like "Alex" said."
Miranda then notices that her headache and nosebleed stopped.
She then noticed Alex smirking at her and glared at him before she calmed down realizing what he did and askes him a question that has been eating at her since the start of all this.
"You healed my mind? How It should be impossible. I've tried before on previous test subjects and how did you take control of the megamycete."
Miranda gestures with her free hand at the endless bookshelves filled with books that when she focused on them she noticed that they were endlessly changing and getting reorganized in real time without Alex , focusing or doing anything , at least from what she could tell.
"And turn it into this how are you doing this, what are you? Exactly because I know that even if project chaos seceded to its highest level , it would not create something like you.
Miranda continued while pointing at "Alex".
' Or whatever , this thing wants to call itself How exactly did this come to be? How's it doing all of this? I have to know after all if he wanted me dead I would be dead And if he wanted to He could have brainwashed me and I would have never known after all, I can do the same and i'm weaker than him when it comes to mental manipulation I could tell that just from the book alone and how it transferred knowledge to me let alone everything before that.
Miranda decides to stop overthinking and continue while glaring at "Alex".
"Yes it would create an immensely powerful being that most likely would be stronger than me but not so overwhelmingly, like you... You make me feel like you haven't tried it all so far and that horrifies me also , the fact that you probably know more about me than I do after all, you said it yourself you have read the memories of all beings that have touched the megamycete that includes me."
Miranda finished her rant and looked at Alex's face, noticing the grin that was widening and the amusement that seemed to dance in his eyes.
He then clapped at her , like he was watched a jester say a fine joke and said.
" You're correct, I went through all your memories and the memories of your subordinates and because of that , I have a good grasp of your thought process and reactions."
Alex then stood up and snapped his fingers and Miranda watched as everything in their surroundings dissolved and turned into a void full of screens playing images.
"Now, let me show you something that I think you'll find interesting.I figured it out through cross-referencing information gathered for memories from not just the megamycete but my genetics as well."
Miranda then watched as all the screens stopped and merged into a massive one that showed a blueprint of the entire earth With what looked like roots growing throughout the Entirety of it slowly becoming a connected network.
Miranda then realizes with increasing dread, what the dark roots are and realizes what it means.
' He's controlling the megamycete to grow and expand and from what I can tell there are multiple other sections of it throughout the planet not just near my village huh the screen's changing.'
The image on the screen changes just with the Earth seemingly going back in time where there was only one unified landmass where everything was connected to the dark roots alongside another orange colored thing that seemed to permeate everything.
Miranda then feels curiosity and excitement overcoming her dread at what this discovery means.
Miranda sees, Alex's face change as a feral smile creeps up his face.
"Ooh somebody just made a mistake, they just attacked the tube I'm housed in."
Alex then glances at miranda and smiles , saying.
" Let's continue our conversation.They're being taken care of right now."
Miranda then feels like she should ask how they're being handled , but then feels it's not worth it , especially not with the discovery right in front of her.
' Whatever they attack the monster, so they're going to die. That's not important, what is important is that the megamycete was once something widespread globally.'
Miranda then feels a smile start to form on her face as she comes to a realization.
'I was right about the dormant sections after all , there are sections that are around the village that were in such a state, so I came to the conclusion that there might be many of them all over the world. After all, the megamycete wouldn't have survived this long being confined to one area.'
Miranda then watches Alex as he shifts, his posture saying.
"Now let me show you the best part."
As the screen starts filling up with more colors
And starts displaying more images including giant animals fighting each other as well as giant parasites digging into the necks of animals and gradually replacing their body.
Miranda then saw how the first humans who came into contact with these things changed, with some of them becoming stronger and faster and with others gaining different abilities entirely.

So I'm not sick anymore which is great.
And I'm going to be changing my upload schedule.
To being one chapter every monday.
Because I'm starting to stack up chapters.
But if say there are like power stones or if I just completed an extra chapter I'm going to release more.
And when I feel like I've stacked up enough chapters , i'm going to do mass releases
Oh , and if you couldn't tell Alex , totally dodged a question by pushing forward another thing entirely , if you didn't notice.
After all Miranda's a scientist With a lot of curiosity , you could tell that from the games.
