Mwah~

...

Arriving in the men's section of the store, Alice went crazy.

She walked around and muttered some incomprehensible words.

After she'd walked around for a while did she finally find something she liked.

"Silas, come here."

Silas walked over and Alice raised the overshirt and looked between him and the shirt.

"Mmh, yes this is good but not quite it." Alice mumbled as she hung it back.

Silas was confused. What was wrong with that shirt? It looked good.

Minutes passed and Silas had lost track of how many shirts Alice had looked at.

Sigh. Alice finally let out a sigh.

"Choosing clothes for you is easy… but also unsatisfactory, everything looks good on you, making nothing stand out."

Silas twitched his lips. Is that a compliment or insult?

"We'll just have to take everything."

Silas thought he heard wrong. All of it?

"Alice… all of it, is that necessary?"

Alice looked over.

"Yeah… if it's too expensive I can pay."

Silas cursed. Women.

"It's not about money… I don't think all that will fit in my car, also aren't we going to buy pants?"

Alice rubbed her chin with her hand.

"You're right. I will pick out the best."

Silas breathed a sigh of relief. What a save.

She ran across the path she had walked before and picked out her favorites.

Silas listlessly followed and frowned at her choices. He now regretted letting her choose all his clothes.

She picked none that he favorited.

"Are you done?" Silas asked.

Alice moved her lips with a thinking face, clearly she was focused.

"Yeah, this will do."

Silas clenched his jaw. Why are you saying that as if you haven't picked out more than 10 overshirts?

Alice turned to Silas and raised the shirts with a smile.

"Can you hold these quick?"

Silas nodded and held the shirts.

Alice smiled sweetly.

"Let's look at pants."

Just then Silas knew how dire his situation truly was. He had been tricked.

If he had to hold these clothes through an entire pants shopping… he would be mentally exhausted.

"Could we hurry this?" Silas asked hopefully.

Alice stopped, turned around and frowned.

"Don't you want the best? You can't hurry a master at work."

Master? You? Shouldn't a master be faster than ordinary people?

"Fine…" Silas followed Alice to the pants section.

After what felt like an eternity…

"Alright, I think we're done." Alice looked at the different pants in her hands.

YES! We can finally leave. Silas felt tears well up in his eyes. This store was warm and cramped.

He wanted nothing else but to take a walk outside.

"Let's hurry to check out." Silas said and walked towards the counter, where the shop assistant who had been staring at them waited listlessly.

She had watched this poor guy with pity as he was dragged around by his girlfriend and forced to carry clothes.

Alice smiled as she followed Silas to the counter.

"This please." Silas said as he put the clothes pile on the counter.

Then Alice appeared behind and dropped the clothes she was holding onto the counter.

The shop assistant looked at the pile and sighed softly. I wasn't paid enough for this.

She started to scan the clothes.

Alice stretched as if she had done some hard work.

"Do you wanna go get something to eat?" She glanced up at the roof then towards Silas.

Silas glanced at her with a raised brow.

"Are you going to eat?"

Alice shook her head.

"I'm still fasting."

You've been on this fast for a pretty long time. Silas complained.

"Then let's just take a walk and see if there are any good movies in the cinema."

Alice nodded with a smile.

"Sounds good… but won't you get hungry?"

Silas shook his head.

"It's fine, I can eat popcorn, and I ate a big breakfast."

Alice frowned.

"We can eat first… then go to the cinema."

Silas hesitated, It wasn't necessary.

Just then Alice spoke again.

"I insist. I don't have a curfew, so we don't need to hurry back."

Silas scoffed at the absurdity of what she just said. Even the shop assistant who had been trying to ignore their conversation scoffed.

"Alright… but what if I'm some bad guy who wants to take advantage of you?" Silas said and made what he thought was a ferocious expression.

Alice chuckled.

"Finally!" Alice exclaimed.

Silas was confused, is that something to be excited about? The shop assistant couldn't hold back and let out a laugh.

Alice seemed to regret what she said, she lowered her head in shame, but just then…

"It will be 650."

Silas averted his eyes from Alice and looked at the shop assistant. He took out his card and handed it over.

"Here."

The payment went smoothly and the shop assistant quickly packed the clothes.

"Thank you for your patronage."

Silas nodded and grabbed the bags.

"Let's go."

Alice hurried behind him. She had been awfully quiet since her comment.

Silas arrived at his car and put the bags in the car luggage.

"Alright, let's head to the restaurant."

Alice hummed in agreement, she was just about to start walking when Silas reached out his hand.

When she saw this she smiled. Then she reached out and grabbed his hand.

Silas also smiled, when they started to walk he lightly pulled her hand so she was pulled closer.

He looked down at her face and she looked up with a shy smile.

They walked hand in hand in silence, content with each other's company.

Soon they arrived at the restaurant, Alice looked reluctantly at their intertwined hands.

"Let's go in." Silas said and rubbed his thumb on her hand.

Alice smiled and nodded, she had completely forgotten the previous reluctance.

After they arrived inside they were met with a waitress.

"Hello, have you booked a table?"

Silas shook his head.

"No, just drop in, we were wondering if you have a free table for two, preferably a little further away from the rest."

The waitress glanced between them then at their still intertwined hands and smiled knowingly.

"I'll look." She glanced down at her little schedule.

Silas reasoning was simple: this is a small town, it's Wednesday, and this is a restaurant. No way that they can be fully booked, right?

The waitress looked up with a smile.

"I have the perfect table for you."

Silas nodded. His reasoning was sound.

They followed the waitress and walked further inside the restaurant towards one of the furthest corners.

It was a small table, even for two. But it was perfect for them.

"Is this good?" The waitress asked.

Silas gave a small nod and Alice was already sitting down.

"I will bring you the menu shortly." Then she left.

Silas looked at Alice who had grabbed the best seat with her back to the wall.

"You really know how to pick the best."

Alice smiled.

"You have no idea."
