After they sat down the waitress hurriedly returned with their menu.
As she placed them down in front she said.
"Here's your menu, I will come back shortly to take your order."
Silas nodded and opened the menu.
Alice leaned forward and cupped her face with her hands.
"What are you going to choose?"
Silas read the menu and had a faint sense of decision anxiety. He shook his head.
"Not sure… a lot looks good."
Alice chuckled.
A few minutes later the waiter returned.
"Have you decided?"
She looked at Silas first.
"Yes, I will take a schnitzel."
"Drink?"
"I will take a Cola."
"Sorry… we only have Pepsi, is that alright?"
"Yeah that's fine."
The server nodded and wrote it down. She then turned to Alice.
"You, miss?"
"Oh, I'll take water."
The waitress wrote down… then an awkward silence spread between them.
"Was that all?"
Alice nodded.
"I'm fasting, I'm just here to accompany him." She said and nodded her head in Silas's direction.
The waitress shook her head imperceptibly. Kids.
"Alright then." After that she walked off. Clearly she didn't want to be infected with Alice's supposed disease. Letting such a handsome man eat by himself.
If you don't want him, give him to me!
Okay?
A minute or so passed and the waitress returned this time with Silas's Pepsi and Alice's water.
"Your food will be out shortly."
Time passed and after a few conversations the waitress returned and this time with Silas's food.
"Here you go, handsome."
Silas sat there awkwardly as she placed the plate onto the table.
"Thank you."
The waitress hummed in response and walked off.
Alice saw this and raised an eyebrow.
"I think she likes you."
Silas picked up his fork and pulled it across the schnitzel to feel the crisp.
"Yeah, I am quite handsome if I do say so myself."
"Haha, quite?" Alice asked with raised eyebrows.
"Yeah."
"What? Don't you think I'm handsome?" Silas rubbed his chin and said.
"No, I think you're handsome… probably the most handsome person I've ever seen." Alice said with a thoughtful look.
Silas shamelessly smiled and nudged her leg slightly under the table.
"Flattery will get you nowhere, don't think I will take off my clothes just because of a compliment."
Alice looked surprised and confused.
"What do you mean?"
Silas raised an eyebrow. Alice must've been blue eyed before she became a vampire.
"Don't play dumb… I'm not that easy."
Alice's face showed a look of understanding and astonishment. Then panic.
"That wasn't what I was trying to do!"
Silas shook his head.
"Don't even try. I'm not some common whore."
Alice tried to explain.
"No! Really! It was just a compliment… even though I did think…"
Silas finally couldn't hold back.
"Haha, it's fine I'm just messing with you."
Alice froze. Then her brows furrowed and her lips pouted.
She reached out her leg and kicked Silas's shin.
"Bad guy!"
Feeling her kicking his leg, Silas played along that it hurt. Alice used barely any force so it would only sting a normal person a little.
"Ouch~"
Alice turned her head to the side. Hmph.
The dinner passed smoothly and Alice didn't stay mad for long, she soon got curious how the food tasted.
"Ohh~ I'm full." Silas said and leaned back in his chair.
Seeing his exaggerated posture, Alice couldn't help but chuckle.
Silas opened his eyes and glanced over.
"What's so funny? Can't you see my stomach is splitting open from the food?"
Alice stopped laughing and leaned in with a raised eyebrow.
"Your stomach looks pretty flat to me."
"You're mistaken, it's the angle, you can't see from there." Silas retorted.
Alice stood up and said.
"Then it can't be as bad as you're describing."
Wow! Just don't take my pleas seriously.
Alice walked off.
"I need to go to the toilet, I will be back soon."
Silas nodded.
A minute or so later Silas opened his eyes. Toilet? Vampires don't go to the toilet.
Wait a minute… am I getting ditched? Imagine… at that point it's time to get a rope and have some alone time in the garage.
Just then he smelled a sweet fragrance.
"Are you ready to leave?"
It was Alice. She placed her hands on his shoulders and gently massaged them.
Yeah… that's good.
I think I'm speaking for most guys when I say that a girl only needs to know how to give a good back and shoulder massage and its game over.
That or head scratches.
Silas leaned back and took a deep breath.
Alice smiled.
"What? Do I smell good?"
Silas nodded.
"Yeah…"
Hearing that Alice couldn't help but feel happy. Who doesn't like to hear they smell good? Especially if the person you like says it.
Alice gripped Silas's shoulders hard twice and said.
"Let's go, we got a movie to watch."
Silas hummed in response.
"Yeah, I just gotta pay."
He stood up and stretched. He glanced over and saw Alice's triumphant smile.
"Don't worry, it's taken care of."
Silas looked confused.
"What's taken care of?"
"The paying."
Silas frowned.
"You paid?"
Alice raised her head with a smile.
"Yeah. I've said I would pay for your lunch but you're always faster than me. Now I paid you back."
Hearing this Silas didn't know how to feel. As a man… I feel like my manliness has been infringed upon.
Alice stepped forward and grabbed his arm.
"Let's go, you can pay next time if you want."
Silas nodded absentmindedly. Sigh. I was outwitted yet again.
They walked out of the restaurant and towards the cinema.
Alice had already interlocked their fingers before they even walked out the restaurant.
It seems she likes to hold hands, Silas noted.
Alice looked up at the clouds and looked troubled.
"It seems like it's going to rain… don't you think?"
Silas followed her gaze and looked at the clouds.
"Maybe…"
They walked through a small park, with trees and benches.
The dark made it hard to see beyond the tree line.
But the smell of wet trees and the sound of birds chirping made it less scary.
Alice looked around then smiled. I got a good idea. She took her free hand and gripped Silas's arm, then moved closer.
Silas was confused. Are we this close now? He looked down at her hand gripping his arm.
"What's up?"
Alice looked up with a pitiful expression.
"It's kinda scary."
Silas rolled his eyes inwardly. This is a ploy. But feeling Alice's hand on his arm… he silently welcomed it.
