Chapter 80 - Wine Cellar

As they stepped into the clothing store, Alice's previous bad mood had disappeared.

She let go of Silas's arm and grabbed Kate, then pulled her over to the women's section.

"Come, let's get you a couple of new outfits." Alice said to Kate.

Hearing that Kate was confused, then quickly refused.

"No, Alice, it's fine, I got everything I need, I don't need new clothes."

Kate wasn't a fan of shopping clothes… it just wasn't something she liked.

Maybe she just didn't like the whole social part of it.

Alice frowned.

"What are you talking about, of course you need some new clothes."

"Come on."

Kate saw that Alice wasn't budging and looked at Silas.

But… he had already walked off somewhere.

Kate felt betrayed, no reciprocity? Just leave me like this?

She'd been thrown to the wolves.

Silas on the other hand had walked off to find a chair.

He wanted to get far away from Alice who was on a shopping spree.

Now that Kate was taking the brunt of Alice's shopping he could run off and wait for it to be over.

After walking around the small store he finally found a chair, when he found it, he nearly hallucinated that a light beam came down to light up the chair.

Ohh, my savior!

He walked over and sat down, but he could still see Alice and Kate a few aisles down, Alice was forcing Kate to try different clothes.

Silas smiled.

I'm so happy that isn't me.

Kate tried on a dozen different clothing choices from Alice, and then it seemed that Alice was finally done.

"You're really cute, Kate, but why do you need to dress so… homeless looking?"

Kate felt her eyelid twitch. Homeless, huh?

Silas watched this with a suppressed laugh.

Sadly… he attracted the attention of the beast.

Alice turned to him with a smile, but in Silas's eyes it looked like the smile of the devil.

"Silas! Come here, let's get you some more clothes." She said.

Silas closed his eyes and cursed himself and his luck.

"Sure."

He stood up reluctantly and followed Alice to the men's section.

Half an hour later, and another dozen clothes tested they were finally done.

When they arrived at the register, the cashier quickly registered it all.

Just then Kate seemed to have thought of something.

"Who's… paying, I… I can't afford this."

Alice who was holding Silas's arm with a relaxed smile turned to Kate.

"No need to worry, Silas will pay." Then she turned to him. "Right?"

Silas felt a little disoriented.

Me? I'm paying?

So not only do I need to go through torture… but I need to pay for it?

Do you think I'm some kind of masochist?

In the end, all he could do was pay and smile.

Smile through the pain.

Luckily it wasn't he who had earned this money… it was Mikael.

Kate felt a little embarrassed, after all, she and Silas were just friends.

Although they were good friends… not to the point of him paying for her clothes.

"Here are your bags." The cashier said and handed two bags to Silas, and another two to Kate.

"Thank you." Silas said and turned to leave.

He wanted to leave this warm and cramped store, right now!

When they came outside Silas took a deep breath, feeling the slightly cold air filling his lungs.

Ahh~ Refreshing.

Alice saw his weird actions and frowned.

"What are you doing?" She asked.

Silas took another deep breath before responding.

"The air inside there is just too bad, I could barely breathe, and it's so damn warm."

Alice was confused. Really? She didn't notice.

Just then Kate nodded.

"It wasn't that exaggerated… but it's definitely cramped and warm, with terrible air."

The words on Alice's tongue were swallowed back.

Who was she to refute, it was two against one, and she was a vampire, she didn't feel stuff like that.

"Let's go eat." She quickly found a way to redirect the conversation.

Silas and Kate locked eyes, a slight smile spread on their lips.

Hopefully she remembers this guilt next time she tries to drag them shopping.

Although those memories would have probably flown out the windows by then.

"Should we try another restaurant this time?" Alice asked.

Silas pulled her closer.

"Are you going to eat?" This question was of course useless, obviously she wasn't.

Alice glanced at him.

"Okay, I got the peak. Where do you two wanna go?"

Kate shrugged her shoulders.

"As long as it isn't one of those fancy restaurants, I wanna be able to actually eat the food."

Silas nodded.

"Agreed."

Alice pouted. She felt ganged up on, this wasn't fair.

Sadly, no one cared what she felt.

After going back to the car and leaving the bags there, they headed towards a restaurant they drove by earlier.

"Those two alien hunters are gone." Kate said as we walked by where they had been parked.

Alice groaned.

"Don't mention those two lunatics."

Silas smiled.

"I liked them."

"It was a bit like looking at a really stupid dog that should annoy you, but it's just so stupid so you know it's not its fault."

Alice rolled her eyes.

"You could have been the grown up, and not fueled their delusions…"

Silas let out a laugh.

"Alice, the entire forest is on fire, my match box isn't making a difference."

Kate couldn't help but let out a laugh.

Alice glanced over at her, clearly she was not amused.

Just then they arrived at the restaurant.

"Okay, no need to argue, time for food."

Silas pulled the annoyed Alice inside.

Hopefully this restaurant got drop in.

When they entered, a server approached them.

"Have you booked a table?"

Silas shook his head.

"No, sorry."

The server nodded and walked over to a clip board.

"We have one table at the wine storage in the back… if that's fine."

Silas glanced at Alice and Kate who both nodded.

"Alright, that's fine."

The server nodded and led them along.

After walking though the entire restaurant they came to the back, then they descended two steps, so they stood slightly lower than the original floor.

There was a table, and next to it was a gate to the wine storage.

"The positive about sitting here is that it's very calm." The server said as he laid out the menus on the table.

"I'll be back in a while." He said and left.

Kate was the first to sit, then Silas and Alice.

Silas sat down on the sofa against the wall, and Alice sat down right beside.

Kate was sitting on a chair opposite them.

Alice reached out for the menu and started to read, she wanted to see if there was any fun in there.

...

Enjoy. Mwah~
