____________

Konoha Year 53, November 19th.

Kanda Rokuro woke up and began his training just as usual.

Two months had passed.

His [Ninjutsu Level] had risen to Level 2.

The [Tyrant Step] had risen to Level 3.

Just as Rokuro expected, leveling up his Ninjutsu doubled his Chakra capacity. At the same time, the power of his Ninjutsu seemed to increase by about 10%.

His casting speed had also improved slightly.

In short, everything related to Ninjutsu seemed to have jumped up a tier, which made him very satisfied.

As for the Level 3 Tyrant Step, it allowed him to use the technique effortlessly until his Chakra was completely exhausted.

After training for a while, Rokuro checked his two quests for the day, preparing to complete them.

[Daily Training Quest: 1,000 Straight Punches.]

[Daily Random Quest: Destroy the orphanage's main gate.]

Looking at the two quests, Rokuro shook his head repeatedly.

These Random Quests often involved acts of destruction. Last month, he smashed a cafeteria table. On the 6th of this month, he pulled up the training targets. The day before yesterday, the quest made him smash the door to the orphanage office.

Today was even more excessive.

It wanted him to smash the main gate.

The last few times he caused destruction, he explained it to Okamoto as side effects of practicing the Tyrant Step causing him to act involuntarily. Okamoto hadn't given him much trouble over it.

However!

It was a warning sign.

If he used that excuse again today to kick a hole in the main gate, even if Okamoto didn't punish him, he would definitely lecture him again. It was a helpless situation.

Trouble was trouble!

But for the EXP, trouble was worth it.

100 EXP was equivalent to three days of hard training!

It wasn't like he was going to die. He had to earn this EXP.

Having made up his mind, Rokuro ran to the orphanage's main gate.

He began his straight punch training.

It took him an hour to finish the 1,000 punches.

Immediately after, he activated the Tyrant Step and slammed directly into the orphanage's main gate, punching a massive hole right through it.

[Random Quest Complete. Reward: 100 EXP.]

With the quest done, he immediately put on a distressed expression, staring blankly at the broken gate.

Soon enough!

Okamoto came running over.

Looking at the gaping hole in the gate, he said speechlessly, "Rokuro... can't you just train normally? Why run over here to do it? If you keep this up, my salary won't be enough to repair the orphanage. Are you trying to bankrupt me on purpose?"

Rokuro said awkwardly, "Lord Okamoto, I really didn't mean to do it. I thought Master Kuro would be back soon, so I wanted to wait here for him. But waiting was boring, so I couldn't help but train a little!"

Hearing this, Okamoto's expression softened. "Forget it. You're just eager. You've mastered the basics of Lord Kuro's Tyrant Step. When Lord Kuro arrives, you can leave with him!"

Rokuro had learned the Tyrant Step.

That made him Kuro's acknowledged disciple.

Right now, Rokuro was practically guaranteed to become at least a Special Jōnin in the future.

Losing a little money to stay on good terms with Rokuro wasn't a big deal.

Okamoto patted Rokuro on the shoulder. "Alright, go back. I'll notify you if Lord Kuro returns. The gate is too dangerous for you to train here."

Uh!

This guy Okamoto learned how to crack jokes!

Rokuro roasted him internally, then nodded. "Alright, I'll go back and train."

Okamoto grabbed Rokuro. "Go, go, go. Let's go back first. Since you're leaving soon, I'll give you a gift. Just remember to look out for me in the future, kid!"

A gift?

Hearing this, Rokuro perked up.

He followed Okamoto to his office like a happy puppy.

Inside the office.

Okamoto took a piece of paper from his drawer and handed it to Rokuro. "This is Chakra Induction Paper. Hold it and channel Chakra into your hand. It will tell you what your Chakra nature affinity is!"

Chakra Induction Paper?

Rokuro was actually quite curious about his own affinities.

He quickly took the paper, focused Chakra into his hand, and flowed it into the slip.

The paper changed quickly.

One half crumbled into dust.

The other half became soggy and wet.

Okamoto looked at the paper and sighed helplessly. "Your affinities are Earth and Water. It seems my gift is useless to you. My affinity is Wind. I was originally preparing to give you my Wind Style Ninjutsu scroll, but it won't be of much use to you now!"

Earth and Water?

That's actually tricky!

Is it because I'm so steady and grounded that my Chakra became Earth and Water?

After a brief internal complaint, Rokuro quickly said to Okamoto, "Lord Okamoto, you promised a gift, you can't back out now!"

Okamoto was a bit resigned. "You aren't a Wind type, what use is my Ninjutsu to you?"

Rokuro smiled and said, "I might not need it, but others do! I can trade it with someone else for Earth or Water Style Ninjutsu!"

Okamoto glanced at Rokuro, thought about it, and said, "Fine, if you want it, take it. It's just a B-Rank Wind Style technique. You should be able to find someone who wants it!"

Okamoto tossed a Ninjutsu scroll to Rokuro.

Rokuro excitedly stashed it away. "Thank you, Lord Okamoto! I gratefully accept!"

Okamoto studied Rokuro and nodded. "No wonder you're so steady at such a young age; must be the natural Earth affinity. Pity that Konoha doesn't have many Earth or Water jutsu. Gaining techniques for those two elements might be troublesome for you in the future. I hope you have good luck trading for them!"

Rokuro didn't care too much. He smiled and said, "When it comes to Ninjutsu, being good at a few is enough. My talent is in Taijutsu. I'll be focusing on training my Taijutsu in the future anyway!"

Okamoto smiled. "True enough. With Ninjutsu, quantity isn't everything. Many ninjas dominate the world with just one or two jutsu, like the Fourth Hokage!"

The Fourth Hokage?

Rokuro thought for a moment, then said to Okamoto, "Lord Okamoto, since I'm leaving soon, can you tell me what the situation is like in Konoha Village right now?"

Hearing this, Okamoto nodded. "Alright. With your ability, you will definitely be heavily utilized by Lord Danzo. Knowing more about Konoha will be good for you!"

Rokuro listened intently.

Okamoto began to chat with him about the current state of affairs in Konoha.

They talked all the way until 4 or 5 PM.

The two had dinner together and chatted a while longer before splitting up to rest.
