Ms. Asami starts walking behind me, my mind going into overdrive with thoughts. Who could have framed me like that? I never even talked to anyone inside the village besides Mr. Yama.
"Listen, Ms. Asami. You have the wrong person. I must've been framed or something, you have to believe—"
She suddenly cuts me off,"Shut it. Not another word from you." She sounds cold as ice; her expression seems that of a mix of seriousness and contemplation.
"I said… I'm innocent… You got the wrong guy!" I say with a more irritated tone, however, I shouldn't have done that. With lightning speed, she placed the katana blade near my neck. The blade was extraordinarily sharp and relatively frosty.
"Lower your tone when you talk to me, or I will slice your throat open." I can feel the sweat drop down from my forehead. I've never had a blade pressed against my neck before, let alone a blade near me, period.
"Ms. Asami… What proof do you have to say that I'm guilty?" She thought for a moment before letting out a sigh, taking the blade away from my neck and putting it back in her sheath.
"The higher-ups of S.S.D.L. told me to bring in someone named Namo Himoka. They have records of everyone, including myself." She paused for a moment before continuing,
"However, on your records, it said that you were a dangerous criminal, known for trying to kill people with a tanto late at night."
Now I'm really confused. How could I possibly do something so sinister!? These... "higher ups" have a lot of explaining to do.
"Take me to your higher-ups. It appears that I've been framed." Ms. Asami gives me an uncertain look, narrowing her eyes and slightly huffing.
"Why should I trust you? How would I know if you'd-" She paused, then chuckled.
"Who am I kidding? You can't beat the higher-ups anyway. Let's go." She pulls me alongside her as we make our way to the inner village.
