I woke up the next day, my head stinging from a huge migraine after trying to wrap my head around what happened last night. I sit up and stretch my arms, and I notice some neatly folded clothes sitting by the door.
After getting dressed, I slide open the door, and I see the other three chatting while eating breakfast. Shiro was the first to notice me, and he motioned for me to come over.
"Mornin', sleepy head. After last night, we thought you were never gonna wake up." He said with his mouth full of red bean bun. "I don't wanna talk about it… all I wanna do is eat breakfast."
I sit down and prepare to eat. As soon as I was about to take my first bite, Daki swung an arm around my shoulder. "I hope you're prepared for what's to come, we're gonna work you till you drop Namo-kun~."
I scoff, looking up at Daki with an unamused expression, "Right, right, whatever you say. What's so hard about being a samurai? All you do is swing a sword and look cool." Ms. Asami clears her throat, taking a sip of her tea before softly speaking up.
"Your first day of training will be easy, and you might not do much. However, throughout your time as a samurai, your training will get harder and harder until your fingers look like dried raisins." I swear I heard a small chuckle under that emotionless face.
After breakfast, I get a full tour of the training dojo by Daki. The place was big, if not one of the biggest dojos I've seen so far, and I forgot to mention this before, but the four of us all have our own rooms to sleep in.
"Over there, you can see the obstacle course." Said Daki while pointing down at a big obstacle course across the dojo.
"Shiro's in charge of this training. In the obstacle course, you will be focusing on your speed, agility, endurance, and stamina. Let me take you to the combat facility."
She takes my hand, and we go over to the combat facility. Her hand is quite smooth and feels like some sort of silky fabric. The combat facility had a bunch of training dummies and wooden swords.
"Chief Asami is in charge of the combat training. In the combat facility, you will be focusing on your strength, durability, impact, swing force, and two other special moves that you won't learn until you get your Professional Defense League License~"
To be honest, I was intrigued about the two special moves, but I was also curious about the license thing. "When do I get the license?" Daki puts a finger on her chin as if she's in thought.
"You'll have to take your exam. You will need to pass ALL of your courses, recite the Shakaromi oath by heart, fight against me, Shiro, and chief, and finally, you'll have to sign a bunch of paperwork."
I let out a groan, rolling my eyes and crossing my arms, "Tch, and how long will that take…?" "Hmm, I don't know, maybe 10 months..?" My eyes widen, and I stomp my foot. "You've gotta be kidding me, there's no way I will EVER–" "You'd get paid a massive yen bonus~"
"Count me in."
After learning about the license, we head to the archery field. "And last but certainly not least, the archery field. You will be focusing on your precision, concentration, adaptability, and patience. You obviously know who's in charge of this type of training~" Daki said with a giggle.
I roll my eyes again, clearly tired of her shenanigans. "Let me guess… hmm, I don't know… can you give me a hint?" I say sarcastically. Daki laughs out loud, swatting at my arm.
"Hahaha! You're so funny, Namo-kun~! I don't understand why Chief Asami isn't a fan of your charm." That only made me even more annoyed than I already was; all I wanted to do was get this tour over with.
"So, what training do I start with first?" "You'll begin with your physical exam to see if you're fit to be a samurai. Come with me!"
