Keifer's Pov
We stood in that place her hands were on my chest and we were staring into each other's eyes and the moment stopped and we just heard the sound of the our heartbeats and rain pouring outside. My eyes moved to her lips and back to eyes and so did hers.
We moved when we heard the thunder outside, both of us muttered,
"Sorry" at the same time.
And I went back to cooking again, but both us were flustered like a teenagers.
I finished my cooking and plated it and we settled on the couch, with our plates,
I was waiting for her reaction after she eats, I saw take a bite and her reaction, was totally worth it and I knew she liked it.
After that I started eating, both us were eating in silence, but this wasn't like the heavy like before in the car, it felt more like the calming one, well atleast for me, I kept sneaking glances because this was my chance.
We finished eating and she took my plate too before I could deny,
Keifer: "Don't mind, I can do the dishes"
Jay: "It's okay you cooked, I will do the dishes"
She took and left before I could say anything, I was sitting in the couch and looking around the house, after a few minutes she came with something in her hand, she handed it over to me,
Jay: "Here" she said and I looked at it was a cupcake.
I took from her with a smile, she settled beside me next to the couch.
Keifer: "Thanks"
She just hummed and I continued,
"Thanks not just for this but for everything" I said
(In mind)- also for coming back into my life.
She looked at me as if she understood what i said in my mind , but did not reply, she just nodded her head. I was trying to speak when she started,
Jay: "How's Keiren?"
That question got me off guard, I didn't know why, maybe because I hoping she would atleast care about me a little bit, and in that moment I know she did, even though she only asked about Keiren.
Keifer: "Yeah, He is studying in London" I said looking at her,
Jay: "Wow, That's nice, he's grown up soon" she said with a genuine smile and for a moment I saw the old Jay, the Jay that was in love with me.
I hesitated before saying this but I did, "He misses you" I said in lower tone looking at her, both of them had gotten closer in the years we were together, some times Keiren just searches for Jay, he not only had me but also her to rely on at that time, we were truly a family and when we got separated he asked for her about a few times and stopped because he saw me getting worse.
She turned in front when I said that, I got scared when she did that did thinking maybe I said the wrong thing, but after a pause she said in a soft tone, "I miss him too"
I looked at her with tears glistening my eyes, thinking — What about me Jay? Did you miss me?.
She then adjusted herself and got up from the seat,
Jay: "Okay, I have arranged everything in the room, you can sleep there"
Keifer: "I can sleep in the couch, it's not a problem" I said because I am not going sleep anyways, so why take the bed.
Jay: "Just take the bed"
Keifer: "It's really fine plus I got some work to do" I really didn't want her to sleep on the couch, so I laid my head on couch, saying, "See"
She moved and she got slipped in my legs and fell on me directly and I held her waist as a reflex and our lips met, my heart stopped for a moment and I could hear her heartbeat, it was such an unexpected event that made us stun.
She then got out of the shock and moved quickly, I got scared thinking how is she going to react, So I started saying,
Keifer: "Sorry, Sorry" I kept repeating then I looked at her face, it turned red making me blush.
Jay: "It's okay" she said and moved quickly inside, while I touched my lips and blushed thinking about the kiss. I was smiling like an idiot.
Then she came back,
Jay: "Here" she said handing over a duvet and a pillow while not facing me, I smirked a little for the effect that I had on her and got it from.

I know some of you wanted to clear the misunderstanding, but Jay is not in the state to listen to him and also Keifer loves her so much but respects her way more than that, so he give her a little space while not giving up on them, like making efforts But, but something is coming up🫣🫠.
