Roseanne squinted her eyes at him, still annoyed, and marched past him with a huff.
The whole situation had left her feeling uneasy. Vittorio's pressure on Kaden, the abruptness of the horse riding lesson, and Czar's refusal to take her side.
She was still mulling it over when she felt Czar's hand gently catch her arm. Before she could protest, he pulled her into his side and his other hand found its way to her waist in a familiar possessive gesture.
"Are you upset?" he murmured, his lips brushing the top of her head as they walked together, his hand resting firmly on her waist.
"I just don't think it's safe for Kaden and I'm skeptical of your father," she muttered, watching Kaden out of the corner of her eye as the boy trailed after Vittorio, wide-eyed and clearly nervous around the horses.
Czar let out a low chuckle. "What are you even worried about? I'm here. I won't let anything happen to him."
"Still…" Roseanne's worry was hard to shake.
