Chapter 7

Arrival at the Island

After a night of quiet rest, everyone awoke with the first threads of dawn. The sea was relatively calm, and the cool breeze brushed gently against their faces, as if the journey were granting them a brief chance to catch their breath.

The ship set sail once more, cutting through the waters peacefully.

At the center of the ship, Zoro emerged from the small room carrying plates of food, followed by Arthur. They all sat down and began their meal.

Luffy said with his mouth full, "You know how to cook, Arthur! This food is really good and delicious."

Arthur smiled faintly. "When I was young, I learned to cook for myself out of necessity… I was alone. But I'm not very skilled. In truth, I only know how to make four or five dishes."

He spoke calmly and respectfully, then finished eating, gathered the empty plates, and took them inside. Moments later, he returned carrying cups of tea, handed one to each of them, then sat down.

Nami broke the silence as she looked at them seriously. "We're in a difficult situation right now."

Luffy raised his head in confusion. "What do you mean, Nami?"

She sighed in clear frustration. "First, this can barely be called a ship. It's small, with only two rooms, and it won't survive the Grand Line. We need a real ship." She paused briefly, then continued, "Second, we're missing important crew members… especially a doctor and a cook. As Arthur said, he only knows how to prepare five meals."

Arthur nodded in agreement. "Nami is right. We also need a shipwright. A ship without a shipwright won't last long."

A short discussion followed among them, and then the next island appeared on the horizon.

The Straw Hat crew arrived at the island. Arthur dropped the anchor, and they all stepped onto the shore.

Luffy smiled. "Let's rest here for a bit, then continue our journey."

At that very moment, Arthur and Zoro lifted their heads toward the nearby hills.

Zoro placed a hand on his sword. "Did you notice that, Arthur?"

Arthur nodded calmly. "Yes. Four people on the hill, hiding behind the grass."

Arthur bent down, picked up a stone from the ground, swung his arm, and threw it with moderate force. The sound of impact rang out, followed by a cry of pain, and a shadow fell from the short hill.

They all moved forward to see what had happened.

It was a boy with a remarkably long nose.

Nami asked anxiously, "Did you kill him, Arthur?"

He shook his head. "No. I only used half my strength… but he's really weak."

After a few minutes, the boy woke up, looking around in panic. "Where am I? Who are you?"

Zoro said with mild sarcasm, "Did you lose your memory or something?"

Arthur stepped forward. "We're pirates. I'm Arthur, this is Zoro, this is Nami, and that's our captain, Luffy. And you?"

A description of the young man appeared before Arthur through the Eye of the Sky. (Usopp – Power: 15)

The boy tried to steady himself. "I'm Usopp… What do pirates want from our small village?"

Luffy answered simply, "We want to rest a little… and look for a ship."

Usopp looked at them. For some reason, Luffy's pure smile was truly sincere to Usopp's heart. Even though Luffy had said he was a pirate, that smile made Usopp genuinely trust him.

A short while later, they were all sitting inside a restaurant in the village, with Usopp among them.

Usopp said, "A ship? There are no suitable ships here, nor shipwrights capable of building a pirate ship. Not just because of their lack of experience, but because they don't have the money." He added, "But there's one person who has enough wealth and influence… Kaya, the daughter of the richest man in the village. She lives alone in her mansion."

Nami's eyes gleamed at the words "richest" and "mansion."

Zoro asked skeptically, "And why would she build us a ship? We're foreign pirates."

Usopp puffed out his chest with feigned confidence. "She may not know you, but Kaya is my friend. She'll listen to me. And by the way… do you need a captain? I could become your captain."

Silence fell.

Luffy smiled, understanding it as a joke, while Arthur and Zoro's minds were in a completely different place from humor.

Zoro wanted to speak, but Arthur spoke first, his tone completely calm, yet carrying a frightening weight. "Usopp, we'll ignore those words for now. Perhaps because you don't know the laws of pirates. But what you said is an insult to our captain." He paused briefly, then continued, "Luffy may not care about being insulted, but he's not alone. With those words, you insult all of us. Consider it a bad joke this time… but if it happens again, I'll split your head in two without hesitation."

Usopp's body trembled, his eyes widening. Zoro smiled faintly and lightly tapped the table with his sword.

Arthur felt the killing aura rising from him, so he took a deep breath and calmly suppressed it. The atmosphere returned to normal.

Usopp said in a trembling voice, "I was just joking… So, shall we go to Kaya now?"

He stood up and walked cautiously toward the door, and they all followed.

Minutes later, they stood before Kaya's large mansion.

Usopp stepped forward, climbed a tree near a second-floor window, and knocked on the glass. After only a few seconds—as if she had been waiting—a girl of about eighteen appeared. She was slightly pale, illness clearly visible in her frail appearance.

She smiled when she saw Usopp, and the two began talking.

Moments later… a shout echoed from behind them.

"Why have you come again, you filthy pirate's son?"

They all turned at the voice.

The speaker was a tall man dressed in elegant black servant's clothing, standing firmly behind them.

The first to sense danger immediately was Arthur.

'The head servant… this man isn't ordinary. His power is at level thirty, yet he hides it carefully. There must be a reason.'

"Klahadore! Didn't I tell you not to speak to Usopp-san in that tone?"

Kaya shouted angrily, before a sharp cough interrupted her, a few drops of blood escaping her mouth.

"He's just a lying brat, the son of a cursed pirate. Why do you care about him so much, Kaya-san? He shouldn't even come near you. He's dangerous."

The head servant spoke coldly, looking at Usopp with open contempt.

Suddenly, Usopp lunged forward and struck him in the face with all his strength.

"I don't care if you insult me, but don't drag my father into your filth, you bastard! Do you understand?!"

Usopp shouted angrily, his voice trembling with fury.

"Didn't I tell you, Kaya-san? He's just a brat. Look at him… attacking people without reason."

Klahadore spoke in a feigned tone, a small smile forming on his lips…

No one noticed it—except Arthur.

Usopp turned toward Kaya and saw shock and disbelief in her eyes. He then turned and ran from the mansion.

Everyone followed him.

Luffy ran directly after Usopp, while the others returned toward the ship.

---

Night fell quickly.

Usopp came running at full speed, breath ragged, eyes filled with fear. He reached Luffy's ship, panting.

Arthur and Zoro were sitting on the ground beside the ship, while Nami was on board.

Arthur stood immediately.

"What's happening, Usopp? Where's Luffy?"

He asked in a low but sharp voice, staring at the trembling boy.

"The head servant… that bastard! He's the pirate Kuro! He's trying to kill Kaya and steal her money, and he has a huge number of pirates coming tomorrow morning!"

He paused for a moment, then screamed in despair:

"Luffy… Luffy is dead!"

At the same instant, Arthur and Zoro shouted together:

"What?! Where is he?!"

Nami rushed out after hearing the shouting, and once she understood what was happening, they all ran toward Luffy's location.

They arrived quickly.

Luffy's head was buried in the ground, his body completely still.

Everyone sighed… but not in sorrow—rather in relief.

Usopp understood nothing.

Arthur stepped forward, grabbed Luffy's left leg, Zoro grabbed the right, and together they pulled hard.

Luffy came out of the ground…

Asleep.

Nami struck him on the head.

"Huh? What? Is it morning already?"

Usopp screamed in terror, as if he had seen a ghost.

After explaining what had happened, he calmed down slightly, and they began discussing the pirate Kuro.

With his usual smile, Luffy decided to "kick Kuro's butt hard."

They moved toward the harbor, the village's only dock.

---

At dawn, two large ships appeared on the horizon.

They approached slowly, then anchored.

Nearly four hundred pirates disembarked.

At the front stood a man with a peculiar gait and unusual sunglasses.

When Luffy saw him, he was shocked.

"So this is the bastard who uses hypnosis to kill people?"

Zoro said, pointing at him.

"Yes," Usopp replied nervously.

Before the attack began, footsteps sounded from behind.

Luffy and the crew turned.

Klahadore appeared…

But this time, he was not a servant.

He wore metal gloves, each extending into long, sharp blades.

"What's taking you idiots so long?"

Kuro said calmly, his tone hiding lethal anger.

The strange man responded fearfully:

"Sir… these bastards blocked us, it wasn't our fault! And we arrived exactly on time—we were just about to come!"

Kuro looked at Luffy and his crew, then burst into laughter and suddenly charged at Luffy with killing intent.

At that same moment, Arthur and Zoro turned toward Kuro's pirates and attacked.

Kuro was for Luffy.

Arthur rushed toward the strange man, but before reaching him, two people leapt from the ship and stood in his way.

"We are the Nyaban Brothers! We are the strongest and the grea—"

He did not finish.

Arthur pressed his foot against the ground and propelled himself forward like a bullet fired from a gun, his hand piercing straight through the first one's chest.

"We are in a fight to the death. Where did you find the courage to introduce yourselves?"

He pulled his hand out and lunged at the second…

But his fist struck a solid chest.

Arthur stepped back half a step and smiled with excitement.

'He endured my strike?'

He gathered all his strength and delivered a single punch to his stomach.

The second stood still…

Then, after a few seconds,

he fell dead.

Arthur charged forward again.

The strange man raised his gun, but before he could pull the trigger, he felt pain pierce his chest.

He looked down…

A sword had run him through completely.

He fell dead.

At the same time, Zoro had already taken down nearly half the pirates.

Arthur charged at the rest, fear spreading through their hearts.

Some tried to fight—

and died.

Others tried to flee—

and failed.

Arthur shouted loudly:

"Zoro… brace your hands!"

Zoro calmly sheathed his swords, then clasped his left hand over his right and took a firm stance.

At that moment, Arthur sprinted toward him at full speed.

Zoro pushed with force, and Arthur used the momentum to leap high into the air like a released arrow.

Arthur soared over the battlefield and landed directly before Kuro's ships.

He gave no one the chance to escape.

The pirates were trapped in a pincer of death:

Arthur from one side,

Zoro from the other.

No path to flee. No hope.

---

Meanwhile, Luffy and Kuro's battle was nearing its end.

But Kuro, the cunning fox, realized he could not defeat Luffy.

He tried to seize Nami as a hostage, but Luffy stopped him immediately.

At that moment…

a figure emerged from between the trees.

It was Kaya.

Exhausted, breathing heavily, her body frail, yet she stepped forward anyway.

"Kuro… you truly are a pirate."

She said it with a trembling voice.

"You tried to kill Merry… and now you want to kill Usopp-san and his friends."

Her words were filled with shock and disbelief.

But she did not see the sinister smile forming on Kuro's face.

In a blink, he rushed toward her, wrapped his right arm around her neck, and hid behind her body.

Luffy tried to throw a punch…

But Kaya's body blocked him.

"Hahahahaha! Now retreat, you fools, and go back where you came from! Attack, Kuro Pirates!"

Kuro shouted in exhilaration, as if he had already secured victory.

But his smile froze.

He looked ahead…

and saw nothing but corpses.

Everywhere.

Arthur and Zoro had finished everything.

Not a single one of his pirates remained.

Except him.

Sweat beaded on Kuro's forehead.

All his plans had collapsed.

He had no choice left.

He smiled…

but it was a smile of anger and despair.

He raised his glove,

the blades shot forward…

and pierced Kaya's chest.

Then he fled.

Usopp screamed in hysterical agony and rushed toward Kaya.

Luffy moved after Kuro with burning rage.

Zoro and Arthur ran toward Nami, who was trying to stop the bleeding—

but to no avail.

Arthur reached Kaya.

She was on the brink of death.

He placed his hand on her chest…

A very weak pulse.

But it was there.

Quickly, Arthur took out an elixir from his storage and poured it into her mouth without hesitation.

A few seconds passed…

The wounds began to close.

The paleness vanished from her body.

Her natural color returned.

Then…

she opened her eyes.

'Damn… at the last second. If I had been one second late, she would have died. And if I had given her the elixir after death, her body would have exploded and killed us all.'

Everyone stared at Arthur in shock and confusion.

No one understood what had happened.

"Arthur… what was that? What did you give Kaya?"

Usopp asked while checking on her, still unable to believe it.

The blades had pierced her chest.

Her death had been certain…

But now she was fine.

Even her previous illness had disappeared.

"I'll explain everything later."

Arthur said coldly, then turned and ran after Luffy.

---

Shortly after, he reached the place where Luffy and Kuro had fought.

Luffy had already ended the battle, but had returned from another path.

Arthur smiled faintly and walked toward Kuro…

unconscious, his body shattered.

He looked at his gloves.

The blades were broken.

Arthur picked up a sword from the ground

and drove it into Kuro's heart.

He ended his life.

'Scum like him should not be left alive. I don't understand why Luffy doesn't kill his enemies… but if he won't, I will gladly do it myself.'
