"The Divine Master?"
Aoi Ren scratched his head with a puzzled smile.
"Lady Tsunade, what a strange name! Did this person do something bad?"
"Mm-hmm, he is a very dangerous man." Tsunade stroked his head gently, reassuring him.
"But don't you worry, little Ren. I will protect you, no matter what!"
"Protect me?" Aoi Ren secretly sneered to himself.
She would probably never guess in her wildest dreams that the Divine Master she is looking for is sitting right here, safe and sound in her care...
A short while later, Tsunade and Orochimaru left the hospital.
Deep in thought, Aoi Ren wheeled himself over, slipped a letter into the mouth of his white snake, and commanded:
"Go. Deliver this message to them."
He sighed with a frown. I cannot reveal my identity yet.
If Tsunade doesn't take me to the Slug Sanctuary, then sooner or later, my hundred thousand Serpent-Cursed Soldiers will be overwhelmed and destroyed once the Allied Shinobi Forces regroup... I have to do something.
"Perhaps... this is the perfect chance to finally get my hands on that thing."
Aoi Ren narrowed his eyes, tapping his fingers rhythmically against the armrest of his wheelchair.
There was one treasure he desired above all else: The Sealing Arts.
And for him, this era was the absolute best time to seize it...
The First and Second Hokage were long dead, and Naruto — the child of destiny — had not yet been born.
With the Third Hokage barely at the Super-Kage level, he simply didn't have the power to stop Aoi Ren.
However...
There were still a few tricky figures around at this time. The White Fang of Konoha, Dan Kato, the ambitious Danzo, and a young prodigy named Minato Namikaze!
If they were to join forces, Aoi Ren wouldn't necessarily lose, but trying to steal the Sealing Arts under their noses would be nearly impossible.
He needed to divert their attention and throw the entire village into chaos...
And if one looked at Konoha's history, the most chaotic moment — aside from the Pain's destruction of the village — was undoubtedly the day the Nine-Tailed Fox rampaged through the village.
Aoi Ren knew exactly where the Nine-Tails was...
After Mito Uzumaki passed away, the beast was sealed within Kushina. But compared to the immense difficulty of stealing the Nine-Tails...
Aoi Ren concluded: It's far easier to just go straight and rob the Scroll of Seals.
Besides, even though he didn't possess a Tailed Beast, his Salamander had destructive power and range that absolutely rivaled any Tailed Beast.
---
High above the Hokage Monument, the wind howled violently...
"Flying Thunder God Technique!"
Even paralyzed, the Flying Thunder God allowed him to move freely anywhere he pleased. Aoi Ren bit his finger and slammed his palm hard against the ground.
"Come forth... Salamander!"
WAAAAH!
Accompanied by a sharp cry resembling a wailing infant, the terrifying giant Salamander descended from the sky, crushing three of the great Hokage stone faces into rubble and dust.
"What is that thing?!"
"Venom Spray!"
The Salamander opened its massive jaws. A river of thick, purple poison poured down like a waterfall from the cliff face.
Wherever the toxic mist drifted, not a single blade of grass or tree remained alive. Everything withered instantly...
"A MONSTER!" "SOMEONE HELP ME!"
In the blink of an eye, nearly half of Konoha was engulfed by the poisonous fog.
"HANZŌ... YOU DARE SEEK DEATH?!"
Hiruzen Sarutobi leaped out from the Hokage Residence, roaring in pure rage.
"I swear, if I do not destroy the Land of Rain forever, I am unworthy of being called a human being!"
The names Hanzō and the Salamander had been inseparable for decades. Seeing the beast meant seeing Hanzō...
"Deploy all ANBU units immediately to the Hokage Monument! Surround and kill Hanzō of the Salamander!" Hiruzen bellowed through gritted teeth.
"If he has the guts to come here, don't even think about letting him leave alive!"
"Flying Thunder God Technique!"
Outside the massive gates of Konoha, where the grass was lush and green, Aoi Ren smiled and slapped his hand against the ground. "Shin'ya... it's time for your performance."
HISSSS!
The crimson-scaled Shin'ya smashed the great iron gates to splinters with a single lash of its tail.
Grey venom capable of turning anything to stone sprayed wildly, instantly turning every living thing — human or animal — into lifeless statues.
In an instant, two colossal summons attacked from both sides, turning the entire Village Hidden in the Leaves upside down and throwing it into total chaos...
