The situation felt increasingly complicated, especially for Jyu, because only he sensed it. When he glanced back, it turned out that this powerful gust of wind came from a storm that had suddenly appeared. The storm was heading west and would surely strike Jyu, Taffie, and Sizhi.
Even more surprising, it turned out the Yetis' power created this storm. As the two Yetis fought, one of them spun his arm like a propeller. From the rotation of that arm, a powerful vortex of wind was created. This was his attack, but the other Yeti managed to deflect it.
Unfortunately, the deflection was directed west, where Jyu, Taffie, and Sizhi were.
"Watch out!" shouted Jyu.
At that very moment, Taffie and Sizhi realized that something dangerous was approaching. The two of them turned back in unison and immediately widened their eyes in shock when they saw a storm approaching.
"Why is there another storm?" said Taffie.
"Run quickly!" shouted Jyu, who was now already running fast, leaving his two friends behind.
A second later, Taffie and Sizhi followed him. The three of them now kept scanning in every direction, trying to find a place to take shelter.
"Why don't we use your demon power again?" Sizhi asked Taffie.
Taffie immediately shook her head, "The wind vortex is too strong and too fast, using my demon power would be useless."
"Then what should we do?" shouted Sizhi, who was growing more panicked as the storm began to approach.
Of course, this was dangerous. If they were swallowed by the storm again, it was certain that they would be separated once more. There might even be enemies attacking again, making the situation even more complicated.
But in the middle of this panic, Jyu suddenly felt that Kuma was extremely angry. For some reason, his demon really wanted to come out.
"Why? Not now, we're in danger!" said Jyu softly, trying to calm Kuma, who was so restless. Even though Kuma was inside Jyu's body, the two of them could still communicate. However, Kuma's language could not be understood. He only said, "Grrr."
Kuma kept struggling, wanting to come out. This condition made Jyu feel uncomfortable in his body, like a nauseous feeling as if he was about to vomit. "Alright!" he said with a slight shout.
"What's wrong, Jyu?" asked Taffie, confused by the strange behavior of the red-haired boy.
Suddenly, Kuma appeared beside Jyu, but he didn't run. Instead, he stood still while staring sharply at the storm. Kuma kept growling, his fists clenched tightly, as if he wanted to launch a deadly attack. But at whom?
"What are you doing, run quickly!" shouted Jyu.
However, Kuma ignored this command. In fact, this teddy bear chose to run toward the storm.
"Kuma!" shouted Jyu, worried about his demon. Even now, Jyu chose to run back to chase his doll.
Kuma was getting closer to the storm, five more seconds and he would truly be swallowed by the vortex of wind coming from every direction. But in truth, Kuma had already planned something. Suddenly he jumped high, then threw a punch forward, as if he was performing a super powerful punch attack.
At that very moment, a powerful shockwave emerged from Kuma's punch. This attack instantly split the approaching storm, scattering it until it slowly weakened and disappeared.
It worked.
Jyu, Taffie, and Sizhi could only stare in amazement.
"You did it, Kuma!" shouted Jyu as he immediately approached his demon and hugged him.
This adorable moment made Taffie and Sizhi happy, too. Even deep in their hearts, Taffie and Sizhi also wanted to hug Kuma.
"Kuma, you're amazing!" said Sizhi while pinching the cheek of the teddy bear.
"You really are reliable, unlike your master," said Taffie as she rubbed Kuma's head.
But this remark offended Jyu. "Hey, I'm the one who trained him."
"Oh, really! If you trained him, you should have known that Kuma's power could be used against that storm earlier. But judging from your movements just now, I think this is Kuma's instinct, not your command," replied Taffie.
Jyu could not say anything, because what Taffie said was the truth. But actually, that was not important. The most important thing was that they were now safe and could continue their journey.
Of course, they did that immediately. The three of them ran again across the desert to quickly reach the demon castle. But they still had to stay alert because the threat of enemies still existed.
The desert was truly hot, and fatigue began to creep into the bodies of Jyu, Taffie, and Sizhi. Now their water supplies were running low, even Jyu's and Taffie's were already empty. Like it or not, they had to quickly find a source of water or drink the fresh blood of mystical creatures. Jyu was already used to it, but could Taffie and Sizhi be too?
"Shouldn't we rest for a while?" asked Sizhi, who was now truly exhausted.
"Where?" asked Taffie firmly.
Indeed, there was currently no place to rest. Everything was just desert sand with no place to take shelter. Standing still was useless because the scorching sun would slowly exhaust them.
"You've been here before, so where is the resting place?" asked Jyu.
"There isn't one!" Sizhi answered firmly.
Jyu instantly got angry. "Then why did you ask about resting?"
Surprisingly, Sizhi summoned Svider to come out. "Make me an umbrella," she ordered.
Svider immediately obeyed. Quickly, he created umbrellas from his threads. In an instant, three umbrellas had been created. Now these three umbrellas could protect Jyu, Taffie, and Sizhi from the scorching sunlight.
"Why didn't you do that earlier?" protested Taffie.
"Just thought of it!" Sizhi answered briefly.
Now the three of them walked like professional models showing off outfits on a catwalk.
"I just want to walk, I'm no longer strong enough to run," said Sizhi.
Jyu and Taffie agreed, because indeed the three of them had been running for hours. It was time for them to rest for a moment, even though their rest meant walking. But this was the only option they had now.
"Someone is coming!" said Taffie very seriously.
"Who? Where?" asked Jyu while searching for the figure that was coming, but not a single one could be seen.
The three of them now prepared themselves to fight.
"From below!" shouted Taffie.
In an instant, the three of them leapt high to avoid the incoming attack. Because a second later, the attack came, a giant snake tried to pounce, its mouth already wide open.
It didn't stop there. A second later, dozens of mystical creatures emerged from the sand. And the dangerous thing was, all of them looked strong. Fighting them would certainly not be easy.
Dozens of those mystical creatures now surrounded Jyu, Taffie, and Sizhi. All of them were ready to attack.
"Too many, there are too many of them," said Sizhi with a bit of fear.
"Don't be afraid, I'm here!" Taffie answered firmly.
Taffie then summoned her demon. In an instant, she duplicated herself.
"Now we are even," said Taffie.
