The next morning came with noise and an urgent court session. Even the king was summoned by the council. All princes were present, and the king finally made his way in. The court rose and greeted him, then sat down after him.
"So to what do I owe this urgency that you wouldn't let me settle down from the morning cold?" King Aldric half barked.
"My king, Prince Rhett cannot marry into that family," one of the nobles voiced out.
"And why may that be, if I may ask?"
"My king, everyone knows how the southerners treat their live-in husbands. This is not the kind of marriage our prince should be set up with," another noble whispered.
"And you all, do you have objections to this union?" the king asked his other sons.
Sebastian was first to stand. "What is there to object to, father, when this marriage doesn't only bring forth new development to our people, but it is also a chance for our brother to explore and experience other cultures?"
