Third person
The court session was over, and Prince Rhett returned to his quarters, but the moment he stepped inside, Hazel stepped out. Unlike how he would wait on him, Hazel was now avoiding him.
Rhett didn't blame him; it was none of their fault. The conditions they found themselves in weren't favorable, and to rub salt into their already painful wounds, the king sent over a message.
"One of the king's guard is here to see you, my prince," Hazel bowed and reported.
"What now?" Rhett hissed as he stood up and walked out.
The guard stood, and the moment he saw Rhett, he bowed. "The king has ordered you to prepare for the princess's arrival, and the guest wing should be ready, as she and her council will be arriving anytime soon."
Rhett's breath hitched, and his eyes glanced over to Hazel, but Hazel wasn't looking… or well, he was pretending not to look, but he heard every word.
