Until Jenna applied pressure on the knife.
Every muscle in her arms tightened as she drove the knife deeper. The blade slid further into the creature's abdomen like a hot knife slicing through butter.
Blue blood gushed out around the blade, coating her face, hair, and hands in warm, sticky liquid.
The creature froze for half a heartbeat— then it shrieked.
The sound was so piercing that Jenna's ears rang instantly. Her head pounded, like it was about to explode. Windows rattled. The voice traveled far and wide.
But Jenna didn't relent. Instead, she twisted the knife. Tore to the right, to the left, up, and dragged it down toward its tail. The wet, tearing sound was consumed by the brain rattling screeches from the monster.
The Skinwalker convulsed violently.
Its tail lashed uncontrollably, slamming into anything and everything.
