Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 Finalized wedding.

"Donna??"

Were they kidding him? Like, for real? Because at this point it was funny, but no one was laughing or looked amused. Instead, they all wore serious expressions.

Asher grimaced, wondering if any of them had ever smiled at least one day in their lives.

He didn't say anything more other than wave at them as they bowed, their menacing faces all turning to their boss, Xavier, whose face had grown even colder the moment they got down. The second in command also stood there like a powerful figure—maybe he was one—but Asher, once again, didn't give two shits about it.

Now came the hardest part.

His wedding.

If he was right, he remembered Xavier saying that it wouldn't waste time once they got to the headquarters, and now they were finally in the heart of the devil's pit itself. The very hell where all shades of evil happened. As an Omega, he was so cooked he could literally taste the aftermath already.

Xavier didn't address the crew who had trooped out, and when they all met eyes with the brunette beauty, he didn't even drop a hint. He only looked at Nolan, his second in command, giving him the needed instructions with just his gaze. After Nolan confirmed he understood, Xavier walked off with his poised steps, hands as usual in his pockets—well, one hand in his pocket, the free one wrapped around Asher's waist.

Asher himself felt embarrassed when Xavier dragged him so close to his bosom, right there in public, in front of all those peering eyes who kept judging him from head to toe.

Well, who in their right senses wouldn't judge?

And the fact that he was infact a man showing intimate affection for another man must have made them so speechless they couldn't even say a thing.

Not like they previously could anyway.

So they could only watch as the two walked away, Xavier's hand still around Asher's waist. And the moment they were completely out of sight, everyone took a deep breath once again.

The air, which had reduced with tension, returned to its previous state.

It was always like this.

Xavier's arrival, with his overwhelming aura, took control, and anyone within that premise instantly fell behind. It was now a mystery why the partner whom they could all smell was an Omega wasn't collapsing all over the place, like this was his first time.

"Okay, now what's happening? Is the rumor true?? Is the boss and lord finally getting married?" a bold girl whom everyone knew not to mess with—because of her personality, sharp tongue, and deadly skills—asked, and all eyes turned to her.

She was Cassandra Everhart, one of the top-tier squad members who had been there right from the early stage and a trusted member of the closest circle of Xavier Devereaux.

Cassandra was a dark beauty.

Called dark because she killed like it was fun.

Normally, she was the one who sent the victims of their clan wars to their demise, and the fun part of it was the dark look in her eyes whenever they passed away—cold and dead.

Nolan didn't deny it.

He simply shrugged and faced the other members of the clan, especially the inner circle squad.

Three more men stood there, not talking, only giving slight nods, and a blonde girl who was dressed in the sluttiest way possible.

Not only was she the one closest to Xavier intimately, but apparently, apart from the men, she was the only one he normally confided in. And that made her feel way too big, to the point she never saw herself on par with anyone. Sometimes, she even blabbed about becoming the next Donna, not knowing she was just Xavier's previous plaything.

And so she would remain.

"Oh, Cassie, don't be silly. Do you think that plain Jane can satisfy a beast in bed like Xavier? And when did our boss, a lover of pussy, suddenly become gay? Like, that's stupid," she stated shamelessly.

Cassandra smirked.

She didn't even want to talk back to her because her brain wasn't any different from that of a nut, but it seemed this would be a more beautiful moment to put her in her deserved place and make her understand that she was just a night fling.

The real deal was there.

And no one would ever want a whore.

"And you concluded because…? He tasted yours?"

Cassandra suddenly burst into dark laughter that made the blonde chick frown.

The other men just stared.

Among the squad, they were two Alpha females, while the others were still in training before becoming elites like them, so there weren't many females around. And it was moments like this they always looked forward to, because Cassandra was a pure menace, and no matter what, everyone was already tired of Eliza's bragging.

At that point, it was just irritating.

One of the men, with rings on his fingers and rose tattoos on his back—which weren't fully covered since he was putting on a dark singlet and baggy black jeans—stood proudly. His green haircut made him look like a rugged god, and with the piercings in his ears and the two dangling earrings, he looked even more breathtaking.

"Talk, talk, and talk. It's all boring. Why don't you both just go to the arena and fight it out? Let us cheer you on. Isn't that right, Nolan and Levi?" he said, pointing at the stoic second in command before looking at the other man who had previously been with him before he left.

Apparently, the man was the softest-looking among the three.

His long mass of strawberry-blond hair was beautiful, and so was his killer smile.

Well… he was smiling toward Zander, that was the name of the green-haired guy.

Levi raised his hands and started walking away, turning briefly toward them.

"Count me out of you guys' drama. I wasn't there."

Then he bounced off.

Zander scoffed.

The playboy himself had run off, probably looking for another new victim to deceive and get into their pants.

His eyes moved to the last man standing there quietly, his grey eyes resting on them all.

That was Enzo Marchetti.

The quiet one.

Popularly called Xavier's favorite among the squad by the boss himself.

Even though Nolan might be Xavier's right-hand man, they all knew the truth.

When it came to top-tier secret missions, Enzo was the only one ever told in advance. Coupled with Enzo's mysterious strength and prowess—which seemed to change in every battle they ever went to—seeing how deadly he was, they had all decided not to cross him.

And since he wasn't socializing too, they simply let him be.

This time, Enzo looked like he wanted to say something, and they all went blank, actually expecting words from him, because some of them had barely ever heard him talk before.

So they wanted to hear him then.

But to their disappointment, he simply closed his mouth and walked off.

Zander sighed.

"Seems like I was the only one that wanted a good fight to cure boredom, but all these dry fellows said no. Well, see you ladies in the inner chamber—and make sure Xavier doesn't get there before any of you. Remember, he doesn't like waiting."

And Zander left together with Nolan, leaving the two loggerheads still standing there.

Cassandra, going back to what she was saying, smirked.

"One last thing—you here are the plain Jane. Because compared to our new Donna, you're like a shoe cleaner and a maid to him. A used thing. So stay clear unless, Eliza , you want to die young. No one would save you, remember?"

Cassandra reminded her and then flung her hair straight into her face before walking off that very moment.

By then, the headquarters itself was already in a huge rendezvous.

Xavier had finalized the wedding.

It was now being scheduled to take place tonight.

A night wedding.
