It was still dark, and Asher remained enterwined with Xavier as the obsessed freak refused to let him go. Now they were walking together along a long corridor.
Servants and maids who wanted to help carry Asher to his room were all stopped, and even some who insisted ended up losing their jobs.
Asher watched them beg, crying that it was the only job they had, but Xavier didn't even seem to realize that actual humans were on their knees begging. He brushed them off and still continued walking.
Those unfortunate ones who didn't leave as instructed but kept crying and crying were sent to the same prison Asher had just gotten out from, and after that declaration, they all quickly respected themselves.
"I'm taking him to his room myself, and no one should disturb me unless it's an emergency—unless your head won't be intact at all." Xavier's voice reverberated with that serious warning.
