The wind blew, breaking against the swing of the club. The beast growled before striking, but the swift movement of something stopped it dead in its tracks, forcing it to step back—it sounded as if the air itself had been sliced in a single motion, striking the weapon and pushing it away.
At the same time, mysterious blue flames ignited near the carriage, rising into the sky like flares before bursting into a bright sphere that, fortunately, illuminated most of the road. Only then could it finally be seen: the forest, filled with trees surrounding the path, but also the small shadows watching from the distance with malicious eyes.
