The journey continued until dawn the next day, when the sun rose over the horizon beyond the vast forest. Mitsuki stared at the road, lost in thought. He couldn't stop recalling what had happened the night before. After what Marco said, they simply continued on without giving much importance to anything else.
'It took me two weeks to reach Luxar. It'll be more than two weeks before entering the Kingdom of Holylight. If I manage to farm more XP to level up and improve my stats, then by the time I start searching for the power the system promised me, I'll already have what I need to go on my own.'
He frowned.
'Or at least, that's what I'd like to think, but the stat gains per level are way too low. I need to kill something that drops good XP and items… But that's exactly the problem. I'm too weak to fight monsters on my own. The only thing I can do, for now, is wait for someone else to lower a monster's HP so I can land the final blow. That's the only way I can get anything…'
