Titan. The ruins.
"ROAR—!!"
Thanos didn't pause for the transformation. Without the Gauntlet, without the Stones, without anything except the body that had conquered worlds before he'd ever touched an Infinity Stone — he was a wounded wolf with nothing left to lose.
He kicked the ground. The metal ruins shattered. He launched like a purple cannonball — kinetic energy sufficient to flatten mountains — fist aimed at Ultimate Swampfire's face.
Pure physical force. No cosmic enhancement. Just the peak of what a Titan could be.
"Come on!"
Ultimate Swampfire didn't dodge. Arms thick as ancient trees, fists clenched, blue flames detonating between his fingers.
BANG!!
The collision sent a shockwave ring expanding outward, disintegrating every floating boulder within a hundred meters.
Thanos felt like he'd punched a red-hot vibranium plate. The strength matched his own. But the heat—
SZZZT—
Smoke rose from his fist. Not ordinary fire. Blue napalm — Supernova Combustion-grade, temperature exceeding a star's surface.
"AAAH!!"
Thanos endured the burning and grabbed Ultimate Swampfire's shoulder with his free hand, attempting to tear him apart.
"Close quarters? I'll play."
Jake's shoulder buds opened.
"Napalm Bombs!"
POOF-POOF-POOF!
Dozens of blue gelatinous fireballs erupted from the plant-structures — point-blank, pasting across Thanos's chest and face.
BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!!
Blue fire swallowed Thanos completely. The surrounding rock liquefied to magma under the temperature.
Thanos was blasted backward — tumbling a dozen times across the dead planet's surface. His indestructible purple skin was charred. Carbonized in places. Smoking everywhere.
"Father..." Nebula watched from the distance. She'd never seen him like this.
"Damn... monster..."
Thanos stood. Shakily. Eyes bloodshot. Pain triggering something deeper — the primal ferocity that had existed before the Stones, before the army, before the philosophy.
He grabbed a ship's keel wreckage — a metal pillar the size of a building — and charged.
"I WILL TEAR YOU TO PIECES!!"
The metal spear swept with the sound of splitting air.
"Wood Style!"
Ultimate Swampfire's palms hit the ground.
RRUMBLE!
Petrified thorns — thick, grey-brown, harder than stone — erupted from Titan's surface and wove into an impenetrable shield wall.
CRACK!
The metal pillar bent on impact. The wall didn't move.
The thorns came alive — climbing along the pillar, wrapping around Thanos's arms and legs like constricting pythons. Binding. Tightening. Immobilizing.
"Got you."
Jake stepped from behind the wall. The blue core in his chest blazed.
"Time to end this."
"Ultimate Finisher — BLUE INFERNO!!"
WHOOSH————!!!
A blue fire tornado — meters in diameter, sustained, relentless — erupted from Ultimate Swampfire's hands and submerged the immobilized Thanos completely.
Not burning. Decomposing. At thousands of degrees, even Titan cellular structure began to break down.
"ARGHHHHH!!!!"
Thanos screamed — the sound of something that had never truly been hurt learning what pain meant. He strained against the thorns. Snapped several through sheer willpower. But more grew to replace them.
Jake didn't stop. He intended to finish this. Here. Now. On the dead planet where Thanos's story began—
"MR. RIVERS! STOP!!"
Peter's voice. Panicked.
"What?"
"THE GLOVE! The Gauntlet is GLOWING!" Tony shouted.
Jake whipped his head around.
The Infinity Gauntlet — lying on the ground where Peter had set it — was shaking. All four Stones pulsing with unstable energy.
"The Space Stone has been activated!" Strange's face went white. "Something is summoning it remotely!"
BZZZ—!!
The Gauntlet launched itself into the air. The Space Stone erupted with irresistible force — not pulling itself somewhere, but pulling Thanos to it.
Whoosh!
Thanos — trapped in blue hellfire, skin carbonized, body breaking — became translucent. Distorted. The Space Stone folded reality around him like a cocoon.
"NO!"
Jake released the fire and lunged. His hand caught nothing but a blue afterimage.
Space folded.
Thanos and the Gauntlet vanished.
Only a human-shaped charred pit remained. Blue fire still licking at the edges.
Silence.
"He... ran?" Quill — just regaining consciousness, holding his swollen face — blinked. "Again?"
"Yes."
Jake detransformed. Human. Looking at the empty, smoking ground with an expression dark enough to match Titan's dead sky.
"Half-dead. Burned to the bone. And he still escaped with the Stones."
"The Space Stone is a cheat code."
Tony walked over. Hand on Jake's shoulder. "Don't beat yourself up. We hammered him worse than anyone in history. And the Time Stone is still ours."
Strange nodded. "This is the only timeline where we defeated him in direct confrontation. The future has changed."
"It's not that simple."
Jake took a deep breath.
Thanos wouldn't stop. As long as he breathed, he'd find a way. And next time, there would be no chance to pull the Gauntlet off — he'd weld it to his arm if he had to.
"We're heading back. I have a feeling he'll launch a final offensive before he fully heals."
Jake looked at the Omnitrix. A new icon had appeared — one he'd never seen activated before.
It glowed with a deep, cosmic light that seemed to contain the entire starry sky.
Alien X.
"If he really comes again..."
Jake clenched his fist.
"I'll show him what a true god looks like."
