She was still hesitating.
Aurora blanched at the mention of eating. However, Caesar had an expression that didn't appreciate any rejection from her, so she could only swallow the words she wanted to say.
Walking toward the stairs, she glanced up. It would be the first time she would climb the second floor. It felt like she had gained access to a private, secure place.
Caesar was behind her, arms crossed, and watching her movements. Aurora lifted her legs and started to climb up.
The stairs were covered with mahogany-colored carpet and made of marble; the railing was transparent glass that exposed her calves as she took one step at a time. After taking three steps, Aurora paused.
She turned halfway and said, "I can use the restroom here to bathe."
