Chapter 14 - Omirank World Two Again

The palace of World Two gleamed with modern elegance, LED lights, holographic displays, sleek architecture that blended magic and technology.

The Empress sat on her throne, young and radiant at twenty-four, her starlight hair cascading down her back.

Before her stood the Mysterious Person, his big brother, Rennette Keth, and Alya.

Empress: "Thank you for coming."

She looked at Alya with curiosity.

Empress: "So you're the famous student."

Alya: bowing, "Your Highness."

Empress: smiling, "Rise, little sister. We don't stand on ceremony here."

Alya's eyes widened at the title.

Alya: surprised, "Big sis?"

Empress: "I've been watching you. In the Invisible Land. You didn't know it was me."

Alya: stunned, "That was you?"

Empress: "I wanted to see his student for myself."

She turned to the Mysterious Person.

Empress: "Your message. About the plans. Explain."

Mysterious Person: "The plan to make my brother king was a distraction. I wanted the First and Fourth Generals to focus on that while I worked on something else."

Big Brother: "I'm a distraction?"

Mysterious Person: "You're bait."

Big Brother: "Same thing?"

Mysterious Person:"Same thing."

Empress: "And the third plan? To make Alya queen?"

Mysterious Person: "Also a distraction. But one with potential."

Rennette Keth: "Potential for what?"

Mysterious Person: looking at Alya, "She could rule. If she chooses."

Alya: "Rule World Seventeen?"

Mysterious Person: "The throne is empty. The crown waits."

Empress: "And the fourth plan?"

The Mysterious Person was silent for a moment.

Mysterious Person: "Contingency. A clone body."

Rennette Keth: "A clone?"

Mysterious Person: "Nihil Zhou. Made from human, soul and my refinement paths. He is at the Palace in the Sky, the Sixth Wonder."

Alya: "The Palace in the Sky? That's real?"

Mysterious Person: "Very real. And he is there. In closed cultivation."

Rennette Keth: "What is he like?"

Mysterious Person: "Handsome. Grayish hair. Grayish eyes. 1.8 meter tall. He has a certain charm."

Empress: "His cores?"

Mysterious Person: "Dream path. Soul. Mirroring. Teleportation. Plunder. Five cores."

Big Brother: "Five? In World Seventeen where multiple cores are essential?"

Mysterious Person: "He is designed to be the strongest being in that world."

Empress: "Who knows about him?"

Mysterious Person: "You. My brother. Rennette. Now Alya. My first student Akira Sato. No one else."

Alya: "Why tell us?"

Mysterious Person: "Because contingency plans need witnesses."

Later, the Empress walked with Alya through the palace gardens.

Empress: "He chose you, you know. Not just as a student. As someone special."

Alya: "I know."

Empress: "Do you know why?"

Alya: "He said I reminded him of himself."

Empress: "That's part of it. But there's more."

She stopped walking.

Empress: "You're a fox girl. From the ancient Kitsune clans. Your first awakening at age eight was your fox inheritance, what you called beast enslavement."

Alya: "He told me."

Empress: "Your second awakening, at age twelve in the Invisible Land, gave you the spectator core. Psyche. Observation. Very rare."

Alya: "Is that why I'm good at mental skills?"

Empress: "Partially. The Invisible Land trained you. But your natural gifts are why he chose you."

Alya: "And why you chose to train me in secret?"

Empress: smiling, "You caught on."

Alya: "you're my big sis now. I had to."

Empress: laughing, "Fair enough."

That evening, the Empress made an announcement.

Empress: "Alya is now officially my student. She will train with me in the Invisible Land, alongside her training with the Emperor."

Rennette Keth: "Two teachers for one student?"

Empress: "The best education."

Alya: "Big sis..."

Empress: "You've earned it, little sister."

Mysterious Person: watching, silently, approval in his black eyes.

That night, the Empress and Emperor sat alone on the balcony, watching the stars of World Two twinkle above the glittering city below.

Empress: "It's beautiful, isn't it?"

Mysterious Person: "Yes."

Empress: "You're quiet tonight. More than usual."

Mysterious Person: "Thinking."

Empress: "About what?"

He turned to look at her. Those black eyes. That expressionless face.

Mysterious Person: "What if I told you that I'm using you as a pawn? A puppet? A tool?"

The Empress met his eyes without flinching.

Empress: "If I'm your pawn, then i'm the most important piece on the board. If I'm your puppet, then you hold my strings and I trust your hands. If I'm your tool, then I'm being used for something greater than myself."

He stared at her.

Empress: "I have no regrets. Even if it were true."

Then, he laughed.

A genuine laugh. Rare. Precious.

Mysterious Person: "You're impossible."

Empress: laughing with him, "I'm your Empress. Impossible is my job."

They laughed together under the stars.

Mysterious Person: "I have a favor to ask."

Empress: "Anything."

Mysterious Person: "I want to build a school. In India."

Empress: "India?"

Mysterious Person: "For those who need guidance. For those who would otherwise be lost."

Empress: "Like Alya?"

Mysterious Person: "Like Alya."

She smiled.

Empress: "Granted. Build your school."

Mysterious Person: "Thank you."

Empress: "But now you owe me."

Mysterious Person: "What do you want?"

Empress: "I want you to always stay with me. Travel the omniverse with me. Walk with me, talk with me, live a life with me, happy or sad, but with me."

He looked at her.

Mysterious Person: "Always?"

Empress: "Always."

Mysterious Person: "agreed."

They sat in comfortable silence, watching the stars.

Mysterious Person: "I have a dream."

Empress: "Tell me."

Mysterious Person: "I want to make you the ruler of the omniverse."

She looked at him. Those black eyes. That expressionless face.

But she saw it, the conviction beneath the nothing.

Empress: "If that's your dream, then I will become the ruler of the omniverse."

Mysterious Person: "You would do that? For me?"

Empress: "I would do anything for you."

Mysterious Person: "Even become a ruler?"

Empress: laughing, "Especially that."

They stood together, watching the stars.

Two rulers. One dream.

And the omniverse waiting.

The Mysterious Person stood in the void between worlds, receiving a shadowy figure that materialized before him.

Shadow: "My report, Master. The Illimitable Court grows bolder."

Mysterious Person: "Speak."

Shadow: "The Third General and many members are gathering information about you and Sage Cedric Corvin. They question how a dead man whose particles were scattered across seven realms still lives. They wonder, did you save him, as you saved the original king and queen of the false gods?"

Mysterious Person: "Let them wonder. Confusion is its own weapon."

Shadow: "They also discovered the King of Evil has reached Upper Great Grandmaster in Blood and Bone Path. His world now ranks 108, up from 134. The Court's secret bears fruit."

Mysterious Person: "Expected. Continue. Watching."

Shadow: "Always, Master."

The shadow dissolved.

The Mysterious Person stood alone, his black eyes calculating.

Mysterious Person: (to himself) "The pieces move. Let them."

The Mysterious Person did not return to World Seventeen for fifteen days.

The young ones trained, but worry crept into their hearts.

Ruo: "fifteen days. He's never been gone this long."

Kent: "The Empress must need him."

Mira: "What if something's wrong?"

Selene: "He's the strongest being we know. Nothing is wrong."

Finny: "Then why isn't he back?"

They didn't stop training. They couldn't. The assassin watched over them, loyal to his new master.

But they worried.

During those days, they grew.

Kent's first core, Golden Light, blazed brighter than ever. His second core emerged: Blessed Hero Awakening.

Ruo could now summon blue lightning five times without exhaustion. His second core: Curse Hero. Sacrifice had taken his luck.

Mira's second core: Witch. Magic flowed through her differently now.

Selene's second core: Weapon Master. Any weapon she touched, she mastered instantly.

Alya's first core was her fox inheritance. Beast Enslavement. She had awakened at eight but never knew. Her second core: Spectator (Psyche/Observation), awakened at twelve in the Invisible Land.

Finny unlocked new paths: Rule Path (Peak Master) and Gravity Path ( Middle Master).

New ranks.

Kent: Initial King.

Ruo: Peak Duke. Nearing to Initial King).

Mira: Peak Duchess.

Selene: Peak Duchess.

Alya: Middle Empress.

finny: Middle Emperor.

Ten days of rest.

A festival was coming to the capital city of their nation, Atlantis, the wealthiest city in World Seventeen.

Atlantis gleamed with gold and resources. Its population of two million lived in prosperity unmatched anywhere else. The empire it belonged to had 15.7 million citizens, and Atlantis alone held enough wealth to feed the entire empire for a year.

Mira: "we're going to Atlantis?"

Sage cedric: "You deserve rest. And Atlantis is worth seeing."

Selene: "The most advanced city in the world."

Kent: "I've heard stories. Floating towers. Magic-tech fusion. Streets paved with gold literally."

Ruo: "Let's go."

Sage Veyron: "Enjoy yourselves. But remember, rest is also training. A rested mind learns faster."

Saint Serene: "And a happy heart fights harder."

The festival was everything they'd imagined and more.

Streets were lined with colorful banners. Music filled the air. food stalls offered delicacies from across the empire. Children ran laughing through the crowds.

Mira: "This is amazing!"

Selene: "I've never seen anything like it."

Kent: "The wealthiest city in the world. It shows."

Ruo: "Two million people, and they all seem happy."

Alya: "Happy and rich. Dangerous combination."

Finny: "I could get used to this."

They wandered through the city, marvelling at its wonders. Floating fountains. Gardens in the sky. Shops selling enhanced items.

That evening, Ruo and Mira sat alone on a rooftop, watching the city lights.

mira: "It's beautiful."

Ruo: "You're beautiful."

Mira: blushing, "Smooth."

Ruo: "I meant it."

mira: "I know."

They sat in comfortable silence.

Mira: "What are we?"

Ruo: "I don't know. Something."

Mira: "Something good?"

Ruo: "Something real."

Mira: "That's enough."

Kent and Selene walked through the night market, browsing stalls.

Selene: "This is nice. Being normal."

Kent: "We're not normal."

Selene: laughing, "I know. But pretending is nice."

Kent: "With you, I don't have to pretend."

Selene: "What do you mean?"

Kent: "With everyone else, I'm the strongest. The dragon child. The one with expectations. With you..." he paused, "... I'm just Kent."

Selene: "You'll always be just Kent to me."

They walked on, hands brushing occasionally.

Neither pulled away.

That night, Alya dreamed.

She stood in the Invisible Land, the mist swirling around her.

Empress: appearing beside her, "Little sister."

Alya: "Big sis. What's happening?"

Empress: "I wanted to check on you. The festival?"

Alya: "It's wonderful. But I miss training."

Empress: laughing, "You're his student, alright."

Alya: "Is he okay?"

Empress: "He's always okay. Annoyingly so."

Alya: "You love him."

Empress: "I chose him."

Alya: "Same thing?"

Empress: "Same thing."

They stood together in the mist.

Empress: "When the festival ends, your training intensifies. Are you ready?"

Alya: "I was born ready."

Empress: "No. You were made ready. By him. By me. By yourself."

Alya: "Thank you, big sis."

Empress: "Always, little sister."

Finny explored the city alone, his curiosity leading him to the magic-tech district.

There, he discovered something unexpected.

A shop selling gravity-manipulation devices.

Finny: (to himself) "Gravity tech. In a shop. In a city."

The shopkeeper noticed his interest. He was an old man with kind eyes and a knowing smile.

Shopkeeper: "You sense it, don't you? The gravity in those devices?"

Finny: "I have the gravity path. Middle Master."

Shopkeeper: eyes widening, "A gravity user? Rare. Very rare. The King of Darkness would approve."

Finny: "The King of Darkness?"

Shopkeeper: "That's what some call him. The Mysterious Person. The blank name."

Finny: "You know about him?"

Shopkeeper: "I know enough. And I know gravity when I feel it."

Finny: "Can you teach me?"

Shopkeeper: "I can try. But gravity is dangerous. It breaks rules."

Finny: "I know. That's why I like it."

Unseen, the assassin followed them throughout the festival.

Loyal to his new master, he watched from shadows, ensuring no harm came to the young ones.

Assassin: (to himself) "The weakest human's students. Protected by a top ten assassin. The irony."

He watched them laugh, explore, and grow closer.

Assassin: (to himself) "I've been killed for centuries. Never protected."

He almost smiled.

Almost.

The ten days passed quickly.

On the final night, the young ones gathered on a rooftop, watching the city below.

Ruo: "I don't want to leave."

Mira: "Me neither."

Kent: "But we have to."

Selene: "Training awaits."

Alya: "And him."

Finny: "And the World Tree."

Ruo: "This was good. Being normal."

Mira: "We're not normal."

Ruo: smiling, "I know. But pretending was nice."

They laughed together.
