"Eh, Lie, why are you here?" Kagome's eyes widened the moment she saw the familiar figure standing in front of the Thunder Beast Brothers.
Hiten glanced at her, then at Uchiha Lie, raising an eyebrow.
"Oh? This woman knows you?" His gaze sharpened as he looked Lie up and down. "Could it be that you're the Inuyasha she mentioned?"
A cruel smile slowly spread across his face.
"No matter who you are⊠since you walked into our territory yourself, I'll just kill you!"
Before his words even finished echoing, Hiten swung his Thunder Strike Blade.
Dazzling lightning erupted instantly, tearing through the air like a raging dragon and blasting toward Uchiha Lie.
Uchiha Lie lightly tapped the ground with his toes and leapt backward.
The lightning struck where he had just stood, exploding violently and turning stone into shattered fragments.
At the same timeâ
He flicked his wrist.
The samurai sword in his hand blurred into an afterimage and shot past Hiten like a bolt.
Straight toward Manten.
"Pfftâ!"
The blade pierced cleanly through Manten's abdomen.
Dark red blood sprayed across the ground.
"Ahhhâ!" Manten screamed sharply, his body trembling.
"Manten!"
Hiten's pupils shrank in shock.
But before he could even fully turnâ
A cold voice sounded behind him.
"Flying Thunder God Technique."
In the next instant, Uchiha Lie vanishedâ
And appeared directly in front of Manten.
His left hand gripped the sword hilt precisely.
On the hilt glowed a clear black runeâthe mark he had placed earlier.
The Flying Thunder God Mark.
Pale blue chakra gathered at the fingertips of his right hand.
"Five Elements Seal!"
He slammed his palm heavily onto Manten's abdomen.
"Pfftâ!"
Manten's body flew backward from the impact.
As Lie pulled out the sword, blood splattered in a dark arc.
Black sealing runes surged from the contact point and spread rapidly across Manten's abdomen, forming a tight sealing pattern that locked directly onto his core.
"My⊠my Demonic PowerâŠ!"
Manten's eyes widened in disbelief.
His demonic aura faded instantly.
His strength vanished.
He collapsed heavily onto the ground, unable to even move.
Because everything happened so fast, Hiten only fully understood what happened after Manten had already fallen.
Just seconds ago, he had been smiling cruelly.
Nowâ
His brother lay broken on the ground.
Meanwhile, Uchiha Lie had already sheathed his sword.
His movements were smooth.
Effortless.
As if none of this required any effort at all.
"Manten!!"
Hiten roared in panic and rushed forward.
Butâ
Uchiha Lie disappeared again.
"Flying Thunder God Technique."
He reappeared between the two brothers.
Chakra surged violently around his right leg.
He kicked.
"Boom!"
The impact was like a mountain crashing down.
Hiten's body turned into a streak and flew backward, carving a trench dozens of meters long across the ground.
Walls shattered.
Buildings collapsed.
Wood and stone exploded into the air.
Dust swallowed the entire courtyard.
Uchiha Lie didn't even glance at the flying Hiten.
Instead, he looked calmly at Manten.
When he pierced him earlier, he had deliberately avoided vital points.
A living demon was more useful.
He leaned down and calmly plucked the two Shikon Jewel shards embedded in Manten's forehead.
They disappeared into his ninja pouch.
His eyes shifted againâ
Mangekyo Sharingan bloomed.
"Kamui."
A swirling spatial vortex expanded.
Manten's body was pulled in without resistance.
Gone.
---
"So⊠so strongâŠ"
Kagome stood frozen.
Everything had happened within seconds.
The Thunder Beast Brothersâ
Demons who could destroy entire armiesâ
Had been defeated almost instantly.
Uchiha Lie's strength left her completely stunned.
"Miss Kagome," his calm voice pulled her back to reality. "Don't stand there. Come here."
"The other one isn't dead yet. Demons are tougher than humans."
Kagome hurried over and instinctively stood behind him.
Even though they had only met twiceâ
She trusted him.
"Lie-kun, thank you so much!"
She bowed deeply.
"You're welcome. Just call me Lie," he replied with a faint smile.
In his previous life, when he had watched this world's story unfold, he had preferred Kikyo.
But he never disliked Kagome.
For a modern girl thrown into a demon-filled eraâ
Her courage was admirable.
"Okay⊠then call me Kagome," she said with a nod.
---
"Damn you! I'll kill you! I swear I'll kill you!"
A furious roar exploded from the dust.
Kagome flinched and quickly peeked out from behind Lie.
Hiten rose into the air.
His body was covered in blood.
Two blazing wheels of flame spun beneath his feet, holding him aloft.
The Thunder Strike Blade in his hand glowed with violent lightning.
His expression twisted with madness.
"I will never forgive you!"
Lie looked up calmly.
"Heh. Your strength is weak. But you're very confident."
His tone carried clear sarcasm.
"If you can't win, don't embarrass yourself."
Kagome felt slightly awkward listening to him provoke so casually.
This man really had a sharp tongue.
"Die!!!"
Hiten completely lost control.
He raised his blade high.
A massive sphere of lightning condensed at its tip.
The demonic power was so intense that the air trembled violently.
The lightning ball shot downward.
Buildings shattered in its path.
The ground cracked apart.
Electric sparks and rubble mixed together in a terrifying storm.
Kagome squeezed her eyes shut.
But then she heard Lie speak again.
"You didn't even shout your attack name. No discipline."
Her fear almost disappeared entirely.
She opened her eyesâ
Just in time to hearâ
"Susanoo."
The Mangekyo Sharingan spun violently.
Blue chakra erupted outward.
Translucent ribs formed instantly around them.
In the blink of an eyeâ
A pale blue skeletal giant manifested, forming the upper body of Susanoo around them.
It stood like a guardian spirit.
"Boomâ!"
The lightning sphere slammed into the Susanoo.
A violent explosion consumed the courtyard.
Blinding light filled the sky.
Thunder roared endlessly.
The ground was torn apart, forming a massive crater.
Dust and smoke surged upward.
Thenâ
The smoke slowly cleared.
The skeletal Susanoo still stood firmly.
Unbroken.
Unmoved.
Inside itâ
Uchiha Lie and Kagome were completely unharmed.
High above, Hiten stared in disbelief.
And for the first timeâ
Fear began to creep into his eyes.
