Little Princess Aveline watched quietly as her older brother, Kuzon, walked away. She never truly understood why he treated her differently.
Brother Zavier was kind to her. Kinder than most people in the palace, at least. He spoke gently when he saw her, and sometimes he would kneel so they could look at each other properly. When he visited her chambers, he always brought something sweet. Cakes, her favorite. Or brought her freshly cut flowers.
He was good to her. Good good.
But yet, there was a certain distance between them. A wall a little girl like her with a wise mind could never quite see… but always felt.
It also hurt... knowing her only sibling she was close with, also didn't want to be as close.
