Midday found Genya sitted in a training room with Aoi and , much to his surprise , Kanao as well.
They had already re-explained the concept of total concentration breathing since Genya told them it had been so long since he learnt it that he forgot its theory entirely.
Now Genya was preparing to give it a try and see if this insane and totally unreal theory would work at all.
The body of a Ghoul already surpassed a human body by far and could do everything they do but much better so Genya wasn't sure if he would even be able to feel the effects but still he was determined to try.
Exhaling to clear his lungs , Genya pulled inwards with the full force of his lungs shocking both Kanao and Aoi as they felt the invisible but still considerable disturbance in the air around them.
The effect was immediate for Genya as he felt his body strain to process the oxygen he just drew inside him.
His lungs burned and he could feel his consciousness suddenly jolt like he got hit by electricity or something.
In the next ten seconds after he breathed in , Genya's body underwent strange processes that didn't make any sense at all.
His muscles seemed to burn with strain and his mind felt unnaturally focused like he had poured pure caffeine into himself.
His lungs went into overdrive and Genya could feel the waves of oxygen through his body which increased blood circulation and sped up literally everything else in his body.
Almost as fast as this state begun , it ended and Genua breathed out since his lungs had already started tearing due to a sudden increase in air pressure.
"Woah....ack." Genya's surprise was followed by coughing and heavy breathing as he took normal breathes again.
When his breathing finally calmed down , Genya turned to the two who were looking at him in worry and smiled.
"That was amazing , thank you very much."
The surprise on Aoi's face was clear and she looked at Kanao then back at Genya before shaking her head and just standing up to leave.
"Since you have got it then there is no need for my help anymore , maybe Kanao will help you practice more or you can just do it on your own."
Genya turned to Kanao , who still hadn't changed her calm and sweet smile at all , and he felt awkward almost immediately.
"Ummm..... so do you know anything that can help me learn this faster."
She calmy pulled a coin from somewhere in her clothes and flipped it in the air catching as it fell.
After looking at the coin again , she nodded her head yes and pointed out to a part of the courtyard that had dummies and a work out area.
Her advice was to work out and Genya understood that he had to do this while practicing total concentration breathing but there was a major problem with that.
Immediately Genya tried working out he realized it wouldn't work due to his current strength.
Everything that they used to work out here including the heaviest logs were very lightweight for Genya's near SS rank Ghoul strength, it would probably take something like the stone Hashira's training to actually pressure him.
In the end he gave up on working out and just decided to continue practicing total concentration breathing.
Surprisingly though , Kanao had not yet left and had even seen Genya trying to exercise in the training area through the open doors or the inner training hall.
Though it was very slight , Genya could see her eyebrows raised and her eyes widened in surprise.
He ignored it though and just sat back down in the training hall a short distance from her to continue total concentration breathing practice.
Eventually she left on her own and Genya remained alone in the hall breathing in and our at different intervals so that he could get used to the weird oxygen rush off Total concentration breathing.
The following days were mostly the same with Genya waking up , taking his breakfast with him to the training hall and putting it in the inventory.
The inventory had a list instead of the usual grid squares of systems he remembered reading about and it wasn't limited by how many items it could hold but by the space within.
The current space was a cube of about 1000 metres so he was atleast guaranteed of space for a while since he didn't plan on filling such a huge space anytime soon.
Two weeks later , his sword finally arrived and just on time too since he was starting to feel a slight pang of hunger from not eating for a while.
.....
"I am curious about the colour that your blade will turn."
The masked swordsmith hadn't bothered with formalities and just gave his name then stared at the sword he had placed before with an air of anticipation.
Shrugging , Genya lifted the Katana and drew the blade watching as its colour shifted to a unique violet hue with a blue ting at the tip.
The swordsmith stared at Genya's blade for a while then gave a firm nod and said "Have the blade sent to me if anything happens to it , Good luck Genya Shinazugawa."
"Thank you Mr Hiroshi."
Since the Nochirin was now in hand , it was time to begin slaying Demons so by midday , Genya already had a mission and was prepared to go.
Honestly , the only person he had even slightly interacted with during this period was Aoi , so she was the only one he bid farewell to before leaving in excitement and anticipation for his next meal.
One thing that he completely forgot about though , was the distance he had to travel inorder to get to the area where the Demon was detected.
Unlike what was shown in the anime , Demon Slayers actually had to travel really long distances just to get to areas affected by demons and the fact that they traveled on foot didn't help.
It took three whole days of traveling through forests , across rivers and past old crumbling temples before he finally made it to a small isolated blacksmith village at the foot of a mountain.
