Chapter 14 - Chapter 14. Windfall city persuit

The wind grew stronger as Elior approached the city gates.

Windfall City stood tall before him, its white stone towers gleaming under the afternoon sun. Massive windmills turned slowly above the rooftops, their steady rhythm echoing through the air.

The city felt alive.

Powerful.

Important.

Elior stepped forward, his heart steady but alert.

"We made it," he said quietly.

Pyrolyn's flame flickered with pride. Voltiger's fur sparked softly. Lunashade remained calm, but its eyes moved constantly, watching everything.

The guards at the gate nodded as Elior entered.

And just like that—

He was inside Windfall City.

The Feeling of Being Watched

The streets were busy. Trainers walked alongside their Pokémon. Merchants called out from market stalls. Wind flowed endlessly between the tall buildings.

But something felt wrong.

Lunashade suddenly stopped walking.

Its ears twitched.

Voltiger growled low.

Pyrolyn's flame narrowed.

Elior noticed immediately.

"What is it?" he whispered.

Then he saw them.

Three figures in dark cloaks stood at the far end of the street.

Watching him.

Not moving.

Watching.

Elior's chest tightened.

Team Umbra.

One of them raised a hand slowly.

And pointed directly at Lunashade.

"Target confirmed," the figure said calmly.

Elior's heart dropped.

"They're here for Lunashade…"

The cloaked figures began walking toward him.

Slow.

Confident.

Certain.

Elior turned instantly.

"Run."

The Chase Begins

Elior sprinted down the street.

Pyrolyn ran beside him. Voltiger kept pace. Lunashade moved like flowing shadow.

Behind them—

Team Umbra gave chase.

They weren't fast.

They didn't need to be.

They were controlled.

Calculated.

One of the agents threw a device forward.

It struck the ground—

—and released a steel net crackling with dark energy.

"Voltiger, Thunder Spark!"

Voltiger leapt forward, electricity exploding outward. The net burned apart before it could close.

"Good!" Elior shouted.

But more agents appeared ahead.

They had surrounded him.

This was planned.

Cornered

Elior stopped in a narrow alley.

Three agents behind.

Two ahead.

No escape.

One stepped forward.

"You possess the shadow bearer," the agent said calmly.

His eyes locked onto Lunashade.

"That Pokémon does not belong to you."

Lunashade growled.

Pyrolyn stepped forward protectively.

Voltiger crackled with anger.

Elior clenched his fists.

"They're my partners," he said firmly.

The agent tilted his head slightly.

"You misunderstand. They are tools of resonance."

He raised his hand.

A black Poké Ball opened.

A large, armored Pokémon emerged, its body radiating oppressive energy.

"Take the Lunashade," the agent ordered.

The Pokémon stepped forward.

Lunashade tensed—

But Elior stepped in front of it.

"No."

His voice was steady.

Strong.

"They're not tools."

Pyrolyn's flame began to glow brighter.

Voltiger's electricity surged.

And Lunashade—

Its body began to fade.

Shadow gathered around it.

Its eyes glowed silver.

The air grew cold.

The agent froze.

"…Impossible."

Lunashade vanished.

And reappeared behind the enemy Pokémon—

Striking with Shadow Claw.

The impact forced it backward.

The agents stepped back.

Surprised.

For the first time—

They weren't in control.

"Now!" Elior shouted.

His team ran.

Through the alley.

Into the open streets.

Into the crowd.

They didn't stop.

They didn't look back.

Finally, after several minutes, Elior stopped behind a large windmill at the edge of the city.

He breathed heavily.

"They're not just watching anymore…"

Voltiger growled.

Pyrolyn's flame burned fiercely.

Lunashade stood close to Elior.

Protective.

Connected.

Elior knelt beside it.

"They want you," he whispered.

Lunashade looked back at him.

Trust.

Faith.

Choice.

Elior stood.

His fear was still there.

But something stronger had replaced it.

Determination.

"Then we'll get stronger," he said.

"Stronger than them."

Above the city, hidden on a distant rooftop, one Umbra agent watched silently.

"The awakening has begun," he whispered.

And far beyond Windfall City—

The unseen guardian opened its glowing eyes.

It had felt everything.

And the journey continues.....
