The morning sun rose gently over Willowbrook, painting the rooftops in gold.
Elior stood at the edge of the town, his bag secured over his shoulder. The events of the previous night still lingered in his mind.
The guardian Pokémon.
Its golden eyes.
Its silent judgment.
It hadn't attacked. It hadn't spoken. It had simply watched.
As if measuring him.
Pyrolyn stood beside him, flame steady and calm. Voltiger stretched, sparks dancing across its fur. Lunashade remained quiet, its silver eyes scanning the distant tree line.
They all remembered.
They had all felt it.
Elior clenched his fist slightly.
"That wasn't the Legendary," he said quietly. "But it was close to it… closer than anyone else."
He looked forward.
"Which means we're on the right path."
Alex's Promise
"Leaving already?"
Elior turned.
Alex stood behind him, slightly out of breath, his Eevee perched on his shoulder.
"I figured you'd go early," Alex said with a grin. "Trainers like you never stay in one place long."
Elior smiled faintly. "There's still a long way to Windfall City."
Alex nodded, then his expression grew more serious.
"That Pokémon from last night… it appears sometimes. Always near the forest edge. My grandfather used to say Willowbrook stands on ancient ground."
Elior listened carefully.
"Ancient ground?" he asked.
Alex nodded.
"He said something sleeps far beyond the forest. Something powerful. And that it has protectors."
Protector
The word echoed in Elior's mind.
He looked toward the distant trees.
The guardian was real.
And it had chosen not to fight.
Not yet.
Alex extended his hand.
"Next time you come back, you better be stronger."
Elior shook it firmly.
"I will be."
Voltiger gave a confident spark. Pyrolyn's flame flickered proudly. Lunashade watched Alex one last time, as if memorizing him.
Then Elior turned and began walking.
Forward.
Hours passed as the town faded behind them.
The road stretched across open plains, the wind moving gently through the tall grass.
Elior stopped near a clearing.
"This is a good place," he said.
Pyrolyn stepped forward immediately, ready.
Voltiger crackled with energy.
Lunashade waited silently.
Elior looked at the silver fox Pokémon.
"Lunashade," he said. "It's time we understand your strength."
Lunashade's eyes sharpened.
"Shadow Claw!"
Lunashade lunged forward, its claws glowing with dark energy, slicing cleanly through a fallen branch.
Fast.
Precise.
Controlled.
"Good," Elior said. "Now dodge Voltiger's Thunder Spark."
Voltiger launched forward, electricity blazing.
Lunashade moved—
—and vanished.
Elior froze.
Voltiger skidded to a halt, confused.
For a split second, Lunashade was gone.
Then—
It reappeared behind Voltiger.
Silent.
Untouched.
Elior's eyes widened.
"That wasn't normal…"
Lunashade looked at its own paws, as if surprised too.
It hadn't just dodged.
It had slipped through shadow itself.
Eyes in the Distance
Far away, hidden atop a rocky ridge, a cloaked figure lowered a pair of binoculars.
"I've confirmed it," the figure said quietly into a communicator.
"The boy's Lunashade… it carries shadow resonance."
A pause.
Then a voice responded.
Cold.
Calm.
"Continue observation. Do not engage."
The figure nodded.
"Yes… Team Umbra understands."
Below, unaware of the watcher, Elior knelt beside Lunashade.
"You're stronger than I realized," he whispered.
Lunashade looked back at him.
Trust.
Connection.
Faith.
Pyrolyn stepped closer.
Voltiger stood proudly beside them.
They were no longer just a team.
They were becoming something more.
Toward Windfall City
As the sun began to set, Elior climbed a small hill.
And there—
Far on the horizon—
He saw it.
Windfall City.
Tall white towers rose into the sky, their tops turning gold in the evening light. Windmills spun slowly, and the distant sound of wind echoed across the plains.
Elior smiled.
"The second Gym…"
His grip tightened slightly.
"Stronger opponents."
Stronger truths.
Stronger dangers.
Behind him, his three Pokémon stood ready.
Ahead of him, destiny waited.
And somewhere, hidden beyond sight—
The guardian watched.
Silently.
And the journey continues.....
