Night had fallen over Windfall City.
The towers stood quiet.
The storm had retreated.
For the first time, the sky was clear.
Elior stood at the edge of the city, overlooking the vast lands beyond. The Tempest Badge rested safely inside his case. Its faint shimmer remained, as if it were still alive.
Behind him, Infernyx stood calmly. Its flame no longer roared—it breathed.
Beside them, Lunashade remained silent, its silver eyes fixed on the darkness beyond the horizon.
They were not resting.
They were sensing.
Something.
Far below the surface of the world—
Something stirred.
Deep underground, where no sunlight had ever reached, a massive cavern stretched endlessly.
The air was heavy.
Ancient.
Still.
At the center of the cavern stood a figure.
Not fully visible.
Not fully physical.
Its form shifted between shadow and matter.
Its eyes opened.
Slowly.
Two faint lights in the darkness.
It had felt it.
Resonance.
Its voice echoed—not through sound, but through existence itself.
"…After all this time."
The ground trembled faintly.
Around it, symbols carved into the stone began to glow.
Ancient symbols.
Older than leagues.
Older than regions.
Older than memory.
Above the cavern, standing at its entrance, a group of humans in dark cloaks watched silently.
One of them stepped forward.
"The signal has appeared," the figure said.
Its voice was calm.
But filled with purpose.
Another cloaked figure spoke.
"Location confirmed. Windfall City."
A third asked:
"Is it the one we were waiting for?"
Silence followed.
Then—
"Yes."
Far away, Elior suddenly stopped walking.
Infernyx reacted instantly.
Its flames rose slightly.
Lunashade's shadow expanded across the ground.
They had felt it too.
Not wind.
Not sky.
Something deeper.
Something older.
Elior placed his hand on Infernyx.
"It's far away," he said quietly.
"But it's real."
Lunashade stared toward the distant mountains.
Watching.
Waiting.
Unknown to Elior—
Something had begun watching him back.
Not with curiosity.
Not with respect.
But with intention.
Deep underground—
The ancient presence spoke one final word.
"…Soon."
The cavern fell silent again.
But the world had already changed.
And Elior's journey had entered a new phase.
And the journey continues....
