John's vision starts getting blurry and he gets unconscious.
"We will meet again, very soon."
After a while he opens his eyes again. He sees Angela in front of him who woke him up. Tears were still on his cheeks.
"John, are you alright??"
John couldn't shake the sense of fear that wrapped around his heart. In a hot deserted land, his body was shivering.
(This is not right…..what was that!? A vision?? Or reality?!)
"M-Mom…"
"John…."
Angela hugs him. With a firm and warm touch, John feels a little calm.
"Are you feeling alright??
Tears still shedding through his eyes.
"Yeah…..I'm fine."
She pats on his head gently and looks around.
"This…..where are we??"
(So, we got teleported to a desert huh?? Well at least we are still in Rimora.)
With a comforting voice, she looks John in the eyes.
"John….can u get up??"
(His condition is really bad.)
"Hey John…..lets go to the nearest place from here like a village or something so we can stay there."
John without saying a word gets up.
(Thank god he understands the situation! Now what do we do??)
Angela gets up too.
They start walking in what looked like an endless desert.
They scale sand mountains and deserted plateaus. The heavy sand draining their energy with each step.
After walking for a long while. They decide to take a break.
"Hey….lets just take a break here. My feet are killing me."
John doesn't say a single word and just kept looking down.
They sat and took a break.
"How are we supposed to reach Daniel at this rate?? This desert looks endless."
John finally looks up at her and asks.
"How did we get here??"
Angela looks at John with slight shock.
(So he got over his dream huh??)
"Well…..first tell me are you alright??"
"I…I am fine. What about you??"
"I'm fine too, and for your question. I'm not even sure for myself. I just remember us talking in that basement and then something happened and next thing I knew is I was here, then I saw you beside me, horribly sweating."
John with no expression on the face just looks away.
"I'm fine now. Thanks for taking care of me, Angela."
"It is alright John, we are guild members now remember??"
"Yeah, but right now we need to figure out a way to meet with Daniel and Syd."
"Yeah I know!"
(Daniel told us to meet him 'Where the light reaches only in night'. What does that even mean!?")
"Lets just keep moving forward right now."
"Yeah, it seems we don't have much of a choice here."
They continue their journey.
After walking through the desert. They finally saw a village.
"Hey John look! A village! We can finally take a rest."
"Yeah it is not too far."
"Lets go quickly!"
They finally reached the village.
It looked like an old yet large desert village with many shops, houses and Hotels.
They rented a room in a hotel.
They enter the room and closed the door. Angela rushes towards the bed.
"Oh! Finally I can relax!"
John is silent. He just can't let go of that dream he saw. His breathing isn't stable yet.
"So, what do we do now??"
"I think we should rest for now and in the evening we should investigate the situation. We can ask around people as well."
"Alright."
They take rest for a while. While Angela is asleep, John is still afraid of sleeping.
He is scared of seeing that dream again.
(What was that?? Was that a dream?? A vision??)
He looks outside the window while sitting on the bed.
(But...it felt too real to be just a dream.)
In the evening, Angela wakes up. They go out to eat something.
They see a small restaurant. It looked like someone's house. They opened the door and entered it.
"Welcome to Our Restaurant! Please take a seat and I'll be with you in just a second!."
Said a young guy with short hair.
"This place sure gives off a nice vibe."
The place was cozy with dimmed yellow lightning.
They sat on the chairs with a table and Angela started looking at the menu.
The newspaper sitting there grabbed John's attention. He was curious on what news might be published in Rimora.
(This looks just like that of ours. It is almost same. I wonder….If our world also had magic and stuff.)
He starts reading the newspaper. Basic news like kidnapping, robbery and rescue successful stuff.
He shows Angela about the kidnapping news. He shows her the newspaper.
"Hey look at this Angela. This kid got kidnapped, maybe we can find him??"
"What?? Let me see."
(What is it with people kidnapping children!?)
"Wait….this is an old newspaper!"
"Oh! My bad Idk what date is today."
The waiter who was coming to take orders hears the conversation.
"Umm….Our newspaper is latest in the village. So don't blame us for the old newspaper!"
"Stop joki-!?"
Someone is sitting behind them also corrects them.
"Ma'am I just read that newspaper. This isn't old."
(W-what!?)
Angela's thoughts stopped. Every single one.
Her eyes widened. Her hands started to shiver.
That cute and beautiful women's face turned pale.
(No! NO! This can't be!!!)
"What happened Angela??"
With a shocked face she looks at John.
"T-This isn't our timeline!!!"
John freezes.
