Valerie hesitated.
Her fingers were still holding the edge of the bandage, but her eyes shifted away from him, her voice dropping a little.
"I always thought you did but…It didn't seem like right now."
Azrael didn't move.
Didn't blink.
His gaze stayed on her face, sharp and searching.
"How did you enter my suite?"
Valerie froze.
Her grip on the cloth tightened before she slowly shook her head.
"I don't know…" she said quietly, almost like she was afraid of her own answer. "I swear, I don't remember."
He didn't let go of her.
Didn't ease up.
Just watched her.
So she forced herself to continue.
"One minute, I was accepting congratulatory drinks. It was our graduation after party. I graduated at the top of my class and my piece was bought by a big collector." she muttered, trying to piece it together. "Everyone kept handing me glasses, and I think I got a little lightheaded."
Her brows knit slightly in thought.
