"Remember your promise. She belongs to me, so you have no right to touch her," Ryan said.
"Relax. I don't plan on going back on my words," Elara said. "Now, if you will excuse me, I need to rewrite history."
She said the words with a smile before locking the door in his face. Ryan stood there for a while, staring at the closed door as he wondered about everything that had happened and how far their plans had already gone, before finally turning around and leaving.
"It's time, Mother," Elara said.
Seraphine sat up from the bed she had been lying on and stood beside her daughter, her eyes settling on Elara as she waited for whatever she had planned next.
