Glass doors slid open as Ruby walked into the office as if she owned the place. She didn't slow down as she approached the reporting desk.
The receptionist looked up, "Ma'am. May I help—"
"New hire!" Ruby raised her shoulder with a fake sweet smile and placed her sunglasses on the counter.
The receptionist blinked in confusion, "Name, please?"
With a chuckle, Ruby waved her hand, like it didn't matter, "You'll know soon, darling."
Today, she was in high spirits and sure that her circumstances would change for the better. She turned away before poor Nora could say anything.
Bringing her glasses to her lips, she scanned the reception area and then landed on a familiar figure.
Hunter Levisay.
The same Hunter who didn't allow her to live at his place… without his wife's permission.
"You were never this caring, Hunter," she told him silently. He stood a few steps away, going through some files.
A small smile crossed her face as she realized he was also Sienna's secretary.
