Tom slammed his laptop on his desk, making Ruby jerk up in fright.
"What happened?" She demanded in frustration. The last few days had been really hard on her. Her father lost his eyes, his kidney, and his sanity.
Her mom took him to the village before anyone could find out about George. Ruby didn't want Tom to suspect anything, so she gave him an excuse for Mariana's absence.
"Mom hasn't been herself ever since my father died. So, I sent her to our family village, to her maternal family. She'll be happy around her cousins."
On the other hand, Tom had started forcing her to join back Sienna's office. Her good-for-nothing husband cared more about Sienna than his own wife.
Sometimes she wanted to shake him hard and remind him that she was his wife and deserved to have all his wealth.
