Chapter 25 - Emergency Meeting Regarding the White Demon

Once his internal injuries were fully healed, Aurelius Viremont flew toward New York. For him, this distance was no longer significant. Two Arc Reactors floated around him, held in place by the Limitless Technique; the vast energy they released constantly replenished his reserves, with plenty of excess for the system to absorb and increase his template integration.

His primary goal in New York was to kill Kingpin—the underground king who had caused him no small amount of trouble when he first arrived in this world. The main reason he hadn't hunted Kingpin earlier was the difficulty of tracking his movements. But now, with his Six Eyes nearing Lv.3 and his extreme mobility through teleportation, he could sweep through Hell's Kitchen in no time.

Kingpin had nowhere left to hide.

On the way to New York, Aurelius Viremont pushed the Six Eyes to their limit, observing every detail of the passing landscape. His experience points climbed steadily.

[Six Eyes XP +1]

[Six Eyes XP +1]

[Six Eyes XP +1]

...

As he reached the New York airspace, accompanied by the system's chime, the Six Eyes finally reached Lv.3!

[Congratulations! Your skill Six Eyes has leveled up!]

[Six Eyes Lv.3 (1/1000): Grants 360-degree long-range vision. Able to see the flow of energy. Astonishing dynamic vision. Allows the holder to perform precise energy manipulation, maximizing energy efficiency and reducing unnecessary loss.]

A warm current flowed from his mind and poured into his eyes. His already incredible visual range expanded drastically, jumping from $500$ meters to $2,000$ meters—a fourfold increase from Lv.2! Within this $2,000$-meter radius, everything was crystal clear. Even his X-ray vision was enhanced, allowing him to see through multiple thick walls to the scenery beyond.

Moreover, upon reaching Lv.3, the Six Eyes gained a new effect: reducing unnecessary energy consumption. This meant Aurelius Viremont's already impressive combat stamina received another massive boost!

Processing the new information, Aurelius Viremont grinned and took a step forward, appearing instantly over Hell's Kitchen.

The game of hide-and-seek was about to begin!

Inside a hidden military base, satellite radar suddenly blared an alarm. In the Supreme Commander's office, a well-trained soldier reported with visible panic:

"Report, General! Satellite radar has detected an unknown flying object moving toward New York at extreme speed. Its top speed has reached Mach 5!"

"What?!" The General was stunned. The fastest current fighter jets topped out around Mach 3. An unknown object reaching Mach 5 was impossible. "Get the satellite feed! Lock onto it! I want to see what this thing is!"

Ever since Tony Stark announced he was Iron Man, strange events had been on the rise. Masked figures were appearing everywhere, but a Mach 5 object was still shocking. The soldier quickly adjusted the satellite camera, focusing on the object over Hell's Kitchen.

When the screen cleared, everyone in the room froze. Even the General, a veteran of countless crises, stared in disbelief.

A white-haired figure stood in the sky above Hell's Kitchen, hands in his pockets, looking down on the world.

Everyone present knew this figure. Since those three news reports were published, the military and government had been under immense pressure. For the past few days, top military brass had been studying the White Demon's data, trying to find a weakness.

But after days of sleepless research, they had come to a desperate realization: the White Demon seemingly had no weaknesses.

Superhuman constitution, energy absorption, azure black holes, black-red singularities, and that terrifying spatial defense... He was a perfect mutant.

Eventually, they thought they found a gap: mental attacks. They sent envoys to Professor X, hoping to use the students of Xavier's School as leverage to force him to kill Aurelius Viremont. But the Professor told them:

"The White Demon's consciousness is like a void of chaos. I cannot perceive anything, let alone attack it."

They didn't believe him until another psychic mutant working for the military—one who had encountered Aurelius Viremont—said the same thing. They finally accepted that even Professor X couldn't touch Aurelius Viremont's mind.

The military was at a loss. If even mental attacks were useless, was he truly invincible?

Because of this, an emergency meeting was held the previous day. Colonel Stryker emphasized the danger of the White Demon, highlighting his rapid growth and the terrifying possibility that he might soon be able to ignore nuclear weapons. Stryker argued that if they waited, they would be helpless against a self-made god who might dismantle the government.

That argument had convinced the brass to authorize a high-yield nuclear strike to kill the Demon in his cradle.

But what was this now?!

Why had his speed increased so much? With a top speed near Mach 5—faster than any interceptor—how could a nuclear missile even hit him? The military's carefully laid plans looked like a joke.

Suddenly, they saw the White Demon on the screen look up. As if peering through tens of thousands of meters of atmosphere to lock onto the spy satellite in orbit, he gave a disdainful smirk.

The men in the room instinctively recoiled. The General nearly tripped, feeling as if the White Demon were looking directly into his eyes through the lens. In the next moment, the Demon ignored them and stepped into the void, vanishing...

Cold sweat drenched the General's forehead. He began to mutter to himself:

"No, the plan cannot stop. We need larger yields. We must launch a devastating strike on the White Demon, even if it means sacrificing a city! In just a few days, he has become this terrifying. If he keeps growing, what will happen? Will we really let him become a God among men?!"

Above Hell's Kitchen, Aurelius Viremont looked at the sky. He felt the sensation of being watched—an instinct granted by his Lv.3 Six Eyes. He didn't care; it was likely the military tracking him via satellite. He gave a friendly smile toward the source of the gaze and took a step, disappearing.

Kingpin was waiting for him!
