Sensing the Chakra of the Eight-Tails' complete form, Jie Uchiha shook his head and spoke with evident disappointment. Thinking back to an internet joke from his past life, Jie suddenly felt that it might be the actual truth. Perhaps when the old Sage of Six Paths was distributing the Tailed Beast Chakra, he really did give one portion to the One-Tail, two portions to the Two-Tails, and so on... only to dump the entire remaining sum straight into the Nine-Tails.
Based on Chakra capacity alone, the complete Nine-Tails dwarfed the complete Eight-Tails by an unimaginable margin.
"Damn brat, stop talking nonsense! I am the strongest Tailed Beast!"
Gyuki roared. Several massive tentacles slammed down toward Jie Uchiha in rapid succession.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
With a few quick flashes, Jie easily dodged the bombardment. However, seeing that Gyuki's wildly flailing appendages showed no sign of stopping, his expression darkened.
"These tentacles are a real pain."
Jie dropped his stance. "Hatake Style: Iai Slash!"
A blinding beam of white blade light suddenly pierced the skies and earth. The eight thrashing tentacles froze instantly.
"Argh!"
Gyuki cried out in pain as the eight severed tentacles of varying sizes slowly slid along clean cuts, crashing heavily onto the ground.
"Since you refused to stop, I'll chop you up for takoyaki, you giant eight-legged octopus," Jie said indifferently, maintaining his drawing stance.
"Jie, are you alright?"
In the brief time they had clashed, Fugaku Uchiha had arrived at Jie's side. Ignoring the Eight-Tails howling over its lost limbs, Fugaku looked over his son with concern.
"Father, why are you here?" Jie asked in surprise, though a second later he realized he had asked a stupid question. Who wouldn't be able to see an Eight-Tails this massive?
But if Fugaku could see it, Kumogakure had definitely spotted the Eight-Tails as well. And if Fugaku could come to support him, why couldn't the Fourth Raikage? If the Raikage brought Yugito Nii—the perfect Jinchuriki of the Two-Tails—along with him, Jie and Fugaku alone wouldn't necessarily be a match for the three of them.
"Looks like we need to take care of this big guy first," Jie muttered.
The moment the words left his mouth, crimson-gold Chakra erupted from his body. A skeletal ribcage formed instantly, rapidly filling out with muscle, energy pathways, and armor. In the next second, a towering, crimson-gold Susanoo stood up. With a flip of its right hand, a massive golden lightsaber materialized in its grasp.
To quickly deal with a behemoth like the Eight-Tails, Jie figured an equally sized Susanoo was the best tool for the job.
"Susanoo?!"
The appearance of the crimson-gold giant instantly grabbed the Eight-Tails' attention, making the beast momentarily forget the agonizing pain of its severed tentacles.
"Damn Uchiha brat, you really did inherit Madara Uchiha's evil power!" Gyuki roared. Its Chakra surged wildly, and the eight severed tentacles regenerated in a flash.
"Tailed Beast Eight Twists!"
The eight massive tentacles rapidly wrapped around Gyuki's body, and the beast began to spin like a top. Driven by the churning appendages, a colossal storm took shape. Countless trees were uprooted by the terrifying vortex, hurtling toward Jie Uchiha along with massive clumps of earth.
"Going all out with your ultimate move? Then try mine!" Jie shouted. "Susanoo: Heavenly Cleave!"
The blade light flashed, and the world seemed to hit pause. The raging winds, the flying debris, and even the violently spinning Eight-Tails appeared to freeze for a fraction of a second.
Then, a wave of purifying power swept outward. The swirling trees were erased from existence like pencil marks rubbed out by an eraser. Under this terrifying might, half of the Eight-Tails' body shattered completely. Even its intact horn was cleanly sliced in two by the golden blade.
Poof!
A massive cloud of white smoke erupted. The towering Eight-Tails vanished, leaving only a bloodied and battered Killer B falling limply from the sky.
"Take him," Jie said coolly. He extended his Susanoo's hand to snatch the falling Jinchuriki out of the air.
"Hell Stab: Four-Finger Nukite!"
Accompanied by an explosive shout, the Fourth Raikage—fully cloaked in his Lightning Release Chakra Mode—crossed the vast distance in the blink of an eye and thrust his hand directly into the Susanoo's right arm.
Crack!
A crisp sound echoed. The Fourth Raikage's brow furrowed tightly.
'It didn't pierce through?'
As one of the Fourth Raikage's ultimate techniques, even the Four-Finger Nukite was devastating. An ordinary mountain peak would be pulverized instantly, and even the complete Eight-Tails couldn't withstand it without suffering a gaping hole.
'Is the defense of this giant actually stronger than a Tailed Beast?' the Raikage thought. 'This is troublesome.'
With a grunt, the Fourth Raikage threw a fierce punch at the Susanoo, using the recoil to launch himself backward and dive toward Killer B.
'So this is the fastest speed in the ninja world. As expected of the Fourth Raikage's Lightning Release Chakra Mode,' Jie thought, equally surprised. 'Just the Four-Finger Nukite is fast enough to match my speed with the Tailed Beast Cloak.'
He glanced down at his Susanoo's right arm.
'And just the Four-Finger Nukite was enough to crack the Susanoo. Wouldn't I need the Perfect Susanoo to defend against the One-Finger Nukite?'
As the user, Jie could clearly sense the hairline fractures spreading from the point of impact on the Susanoo's arm. Even if they were microscopic, it meant the Susanoo's absolute defense wasn't invincible.
'But with this incredible speed, he still lost to Minato Namikaze. True speed still belongs to Space-Time Ninjutsu.'
Jie made a silent vow. Once he returned to the village, he had to get his hands on the Scroll of Seals. Whether he could actually master it or not, he absolutely needed to memorize the training method for the Flying Thunder God Technique.
"Fourth Raikage!" Fugaku Uchiha exclaimed, recognizing the newcomer.
His Mangekyo Sharingan spun to life. Dark red Chakra surged wildly around him, quickly condensing into a skeletal ribcage that enveloped his body.
"There's actually another one?" The Fourth Raikage landed, his eyes snapping to Fugaku. 'But why is Fugaku Uchiha's red? Mabui's intel clearly stated his was green.'
Seeing Fugaku readying for battle, the Raikage's brow locked into a deep scowl. With no time to dwell on the discrepancy, he caught the battered Killer B, using his own body as a human cushion as they crashed heavily into the dirt to ensure his brother took no further damage.
"Yugito!" the Fourth Raikage barked. "Take B and leave, now!"
