Chapter 25 - Immortal City

Dawn settled in the horizon, yet the once busy streets has suddenly gone quite.

Last night's events have really drained the peoples strength, some were still lying in bed, snoring loudly as if they were deprived of sleep.

Roy, However, woke up early, during the celebration, he casually sneak out of the mirror and went straight to his bed, letting the tiny people have all the fun without bothering them.

He squat casually by the river bend, panning for gold with the enthusiasm of a child who accidentally discovered that this yellow, buttery pebbles can actually be exchanged with money.

It has become part of Roy's daily routines, if busyness doesn't take over him, he would spend his time panning for Gold while wearing a satisfied grin as he swirl his pan around.

He picked up the small Gold nuggets with tweezers, putting them slowly inside a small, cloth sack.

Satisfied, he stood up, brushed away the sands off his clothes and prepared to exit the mirror.

Just as he was about to exit, a head suddenly appeared right above the river bank, wearing a curious expression who had no clue a God could actually be interested in a small river.

It was Yom Euni.

Last night, when she discovered Roy had already left, she also immediately excused herself from the party, being an altar server of Lord Zudra was not easy, walking and standing around all day has made her legs feel numb, so pretending that fatigue couldn't take over her was just putting on a brave face, and that fragile facade crumbled the moment she got home.

"Ah, it is you." Roy said with a casual smile as he step over the river bank, "It is good you woke up early."

"Greetings Lord zudra," Yom Euni replied, her tone genlte, but carried the faint trace of tiredness, "Last night, when you ascended back to the heavens, this humble server also made her exit and had rested."

Roy could the see the extreme fatigue in her tone, he broke into a slight smile, splitting his face into a sweet, gentle expression.

"You may rest properly, let your body recover first, then continue your work."

With that, Yom Euni bowed slightly before dashing back toward the city.

Roy watched her fading figure, he let out a low chuckle, clearly amused by the girl's actions.

Days past, the village inside the mirror grew larger and larger at an alarming spee as houses, workshops, and markets rose from the ground.

The laborers has finally been earning wages, making them more and more diligent, more enthusiastic and more motivated to do work.

As stalls and shops also emerged, the Trade Ministry has also approved the opening of the market, letting the people display their goods and earn money.

With the laborers finally earning money, the elderly and women, who contributed almost nothing and just stood there as the village expanded into a proper city, simply couldn't stay idle, they immediately brought out their hidden stocks of goods, baskets, plates, even worn clothes, and display them onto empty stalls.

Roy watched this with an amused expression, clearly satisfied of the result.

With workers earning money, and the elderly and women selling goods, those money earned by the laborers will be transferred onto shopkeepers, sellers, and the market, creating an endless cycle of capitalization.

Then suddenly, a figure suddenly emerged from the crowd, wearing thin robes as he slowly approached Roy.

It was Bah Long, and behind him, numerous key figures of the village followed suit, creating a large procession of high officials that carried authority and confidence.

Together, they offered a one-knee bow to Roy, then spoke almost in unison.

"We humbly ask for Lord Zudra's audience."

A faint trace of confusion suddenly rose from Roy's face, utterly bewildered by what could possibly be their purpose.

Roy sat in front of a stone table, and along also sat key figures and Ministers from the village, together, they formed a tight ring of both Mortal Authority and Divine Presence.

"Speak" Roy said, his voice echoed across the room

"Lord Zudra," Bah Long spoke, his tone low but firm, " we humbly ask your permission to establish a name upon this newly built city."

Roy's confusion became for visible as he tilted his head, clearly did not catch up to the man's words.

Bah Long's face immediately fell awkward, he let out a shy laugh, scratched his head and continued speaking, still carrying the tone of someone who got embarrassed in front of a crowd.

"You see, Lord Zudra, after the completion of the walls you've built, with it's size and population, it is only natural to consider this place as a small city."

"Korokoro town only has a population of five thousand, yet the people in this city numbers more than thirty thousand people, still calling this as a village is kind of an...understatement"

Roy's eyes immediately lit up as realization struck him, he folded his arms and started thinking.

But before he could process any ideas, his mind already gave out, naming isn't really part of his skills.

He let out a soft sigh, clearly disappointed.

"Lord Zudra," Bah Long immediately snouted, waving his hand frantically as if trying to gesture it is only a misunderstanding, " you do not need to stress yourself troubling matters like these, we ministers have already discussed this and already decided a name."

"Zudrath City."

Hearing the name made Roy even more disappointed, he let out a deep breath, his earlier satisfied expression vanished almost instantly.

"Is the name not worthy enough?" Bah Long asked as his voice cracked.

Every minister inside the fortress wore the same, worried expression, clearly anxious that their naming skills are far more terrible than Roy's.

But Roy's naming skills are equally awful, he let out a forced smile.

"I think it's acceptable."

The ministers all let out a deep sigh, relief flooding back into their veins as they prepared for the establishment of the new city.

Soon, a large plaque hung above the city gates, bearing a title that look like it came straight out of a story book, "Zudrath City, where a God welcomes you openly."
