After Iris left Logan felt lighter, it wasn't his magic, he felt a weight off his mind, he could control his emotions. It was the same feeling he had when he got his -master of the mind- skill, but in this case instead of being able to control his thoughts better, he could control his emotions.
In his mind there were now something like switches when he focused on each emotion. When he focused on all his emotions they all had different switches under the emotion, and right now the only switch that was flipped was infatuation.
When Logan tried to interact with the switches they didn't do anything, until he flipped the anger one. His mind filled with angry thoughts, like it's all the demons fault etc. He quickly flipped it off though, and realized he could turn off and on different emotions. A easier way than just completely shutting out the world.
The next day came quickly because Logan was tired, and exhausted because he hadn't really slept much.
Logan didn't know what to do after becoming a couple other than ask, he didn't know where her dorm was though, in fact the only persons dorm room he knew the place of was Nick, and Tess.
Last night he thought through a lot of things including realizing he missed Tess's birthday, so he decided to go and say sorry as well as checking up on her.
When he reached her door, he paused "I don't know what to say". He just decided to go for it. When Tess opened the door she started acting a little like before, and that comforted him.
"Tess I want to talk to you" Logan said, after they entered her room he spoke up again, "I apologize, I'm sorry I didn't celebrate your birthday, I'm also sorry I wasn't there for you."
"What do you mean, you were there for me. I know you missed my birthday, but that was because you were working" Tess said a little confused.
"I'm still sorry, do you want anything for your birthday?" Logan said, trying to compensate for his lack of a present.
"How about you take me shopping," Tess said with a grin, she was planning something, but Logan didn't know what it was.
After Logan complied and got ready, Tess snickered and said "you look good."
Logan was confused but didn't pay it much mind, "so where are we going first?" He asked, "I need some new clothes" Tess replied.
"Ok, what are the other places that we're going?" Logan said as they were walking out of the building.
"I don't know, after we get the clothes I figured we could wander" Tess said while snickering, and looking at Logan.
"Okay, why do you keep snickering" Logan finally asked. "It's nothing" Tess answered, while grinning.
When they got to more busy places, Logan noticed many people staring, "why are they staring, do I have something on my face?" Logan muttered.
"You have more than a little something" Tess whispered to herself. When the reached the clothes store Tess said, "you can go look elsewhere, I'll be done in 30 minutes" leaving Logan by himself, "I guess I'll get some seats at a cafe" Logan muttered, walking away.
On his way to the cafe, along with stares a couple of girls walked up to him, "hey, do want to get some tea" one said nervously, "I'm with someone right now" Logan said confused.
"Oh okay, sorry for bothering you" another one said gesturing for the other girls to walk away. "That was weird, I wonder why they did that" Logan muttered to himself as he started walking away.
That happened one more time before he finally asked the next people, "why do you want tea with me?" "Huh? You don't know why, it's because your attractive" a boy said with a smaller girl, she looked to be one year younger than Logan, while the boy looked 1 year older than him.
"Really?" Logan said, "you really couldn't tell from all the other girls asking if you wanted tea?" The boy said, in that moment it finally clicked for Logan, he forgot to use magic to make his appearance unattractive.
"Oh!" Logan said out loud, " sorry it's just illusion magic I forgot to undo" he said making a excuse.
"This is what my face actually looks like" Logan said putting magic on his face, "thank you for telling me" he said towards the boy.
"I'm Logan, sorry for the misunderstanding" Logan said extending his hand out, the boy grabbed it "no problem, I'm Andy" the boy said smiling. "you can't fake a handshake like that." Andy whispered leaning into Logan's ear.
"You may have your reasons, but you should stop using magic if you want girls" Andy continued, he was pretty friendly and didn't mean it in a threatening sense.
"Hey, Logan" a voice called out from behind him, it was Tess. "What's going on here" she said both curiously, and smugly.
"Hey… Hannah, are you really asking out my brother" Tess said recognizing the girl. "You know this girl Tess?" Logan asked, but he was cut off by Hannah saying, "this is your brother!"
Tess just started laughing, "yeah I wanted to see how many people would ask him out."
"Well it was pretty effective" Logan said, "why didn't you tell me?" "Because you need a girlfriend" Tess said jokingly.
"I already have one" he said. "Since when" Tess said immediately, suprised.
"I think we should get going" Andy said, interrupting their squabbling.
"Oh right sorry, it was nice to meet you Andy" Logan said, "you as well Hannah".
And they walked away, Logan still berating Tess.
The shopping trip concluded, with Logan telling Tess that he has a girlfriend now, and that he'd need to think it through before he tells her.
Logan also felt as if he needed to apologize to Annie as well, so after they split up Logan went to the research center looking for Annie in the light magic department.
After he asked for her presence, Logan apologized, "I'm sorry for not being there for you Annie. I just was able to work through my emotions, and I left you and Tess alone"
"You didn't leave us alone, you made us get through our loss, and I'm sorry that you didn't feel like you could come to us." Annie replied, she noticed what Logan was doing and it made her stronger, because he wasn't just working to keep his mind off things, he was building houses, planning the funeral so they could mourn, as well as trying to recover things from the destroyed house.
Logan didn't realize these things, because after the funeral he just went into work mode, only remembering the bigger things.
After Logan apologized to Annie he returned back to his room so he could get some rest, but his mistake was forgetting about Iris.
"Iris, I'm sorry I just got back from talking to Annie" Logan said, "I- he got interrupted by Iris.
"We need to talk, let's go to in" Iris interrupted. After they entered, the mood was serious.
After they sat down Iris finally said, "I don't know what to do, I wanna tell everyone" the mood shifted, Iris started to pout.
"Who do you want to tell?" Logan questioned, "I wanna tell Grace, and I also want to stop using magic on my face, it's tiring."
"I understand, how about this." Logan continued, explaining that they can tell Grace and the others, but that they shouldn't go announcing it. He also suggested that she could stop using magic, but it'd be fun to see how people react when they see both of them without it.
Iris thought it would also be fun, and so she agreed. "That'd be fun, but I'm worried that you might go for someone prettier than me" she said somberly.
"Don't worry, I'm not going to go for anyone other than you. Remember you were there for me and I want to be there for you." Logan said reassuring her.
"But you shouldn't do that either" Logan said jokingly, after Iris lightened up. "I won't" she said, in that same tone.
