Logan returned, and it had been 8 and a half hours, around 9 o'clock. It was early enough to make the excuse that he just woke up, when Cason asked where he had been.
"I just woke up, why?", "oh it's nothing I just wanted to ask if you were okay, do you need anything?" Cason asked after Logan answered. "I'm fine, I don't need anything just take care of Annie, and Tess" Logan said walking towards the build site.
Logan had requested for the builders to come after the funeral, so they would be coming soon. Logan gathered stone, wood, and metal, for the house, as well as drawing a blueprint.
Logan kept working throughout fall, when Tess's birthday came up, Logan hadn't done anything for it because he was overwhelmed with sadness, regret, and fear. He had fears that Tess or Annie would get hurt, he had regrets for not missing his old world at all, and he was sad because he lost his parents again.
He knew that just beating up demons wouldn't help him, he needs someone to lean on, but Logan thought that his weight was to heavy to lean on anyone. He believed had to act as the support beam for his sisters, that was the trauma he got from his past life.
Logan worked all the way to his birthday before he actually snapped out of his constant work mode, it was his birthday, and that meant the start of summer break, and that also meant that they had to go back to school.
The trip also flew by for Logan he didn't think much of anything, so it just passed as fast as the months flew by. He at least had the brain power to realize he had been gone for four months, so he had to explain why he was gone to his friends.
After the trip that night he went to Nick's dorm, and when Nick saw Logan he immediately asked what happened, their death hadn't been announced yet, so Logan just said, "can you gather up everyone and I'll tell you tomorrow at the cafe. I'm tired so I'm going to sleep", after he made sure Nick understood he left for his dorm.
The next day at the cafe Logan told them, "my parents and brother were killed in a demon attack, I was gone so we could have a funeral, as well as taking a care of other business. Any questions." They all looked very concerned, but the first one to speak up was Nick, "are you okay do you need anything?" Everyone looked as if they wanted to know that as well, "I am alright, I don't need anything. Any other questions"
They knew that they couldn't get anything else out of Logan so they just said, "no, if you need anything let us know." The one who looked the most worried was Iris, she was stubborn, and also saw somthing the others didn't.
Logan ate lunch there, the mood was somber the entire time, after he finished he said he was going shopping, "I'm going shopping, thank you for lunch, see you later." After he walked away, and entered the shopping district he saw Iris heading towards him.

He doesn't look well, has he been eating fine, I need to ask him if he's alright. "Are you okay" Nick said, he said it first. After Logan walked away, they all finished their lunch as well. "I also need somthing from there I'm going to help him" iris said, walking away.
"Hey Logan I came to help you with shopping" Iris said in a sort of, "it's not a question" way. "Oh, thank you" Logan was surprised but he didn't let it show in his voice, he headed towards the essentials store.
After he finished up all his shopping, the sun was setting behind the mountains. When they reached the bottom of the dorms Logan said, "thank you for your help I can take the rest up." "It's too much for just you to carry I'll come up as well" Iris said in that same tone.
Iris was being more aggressive today than her normal shy behavior, and it had Logan suprised, but he didn't mind it, recently he wouldn't let anyone help him as much as this, but Iris didn't let that happen.
As they were in the elevator iris continued to try and lighten the mood, "what is your room like? And why is it on the top floor, usually seniors have those rooms." Iris asked, "I don't know it just happened when I transferred" Logan said, it was probably because he was considered a asset to the headmaster.
When they reached his door, Logan tried to get Iris to go back, "thank you I got the rest from here" he said, "I haven't seen what the top rooms look like, can I see?" Iris said unwavering.
"Okay, thank you" Logan said, Iris's attitude made him listen for some reason he didn't know. After they set down the groceries, Logan asked "what else did you want to see", "woah, this room is so big you even have a couch, wait, do you have a bath?" Iris said not paying attention to what Logan said, "yes I do, what do you want to use it or something" Logan said jokingly.
"Can I really, thank you" Iris said exitedly, "but you don't have a change of clothes right now, I'll let you use it another time though" Logan said a little frantically, "okay" Iris said a little sadly, Logan thought that Iris was attractive when she acted like how she was today.
"Are you going to tell me if your okay or not?" Iris finally said, "I told you I'm okay" Logan said, what she said left a crack in Logan's act, "your parents and brother died, and you don't look ok. I'm here for you, lean on me" she said.
Those words broke Logan, he couldn't hold back his emotions anymore, that loss was a big weight on his mind, as well as a door into his other emotions he locked away.
Logan broke down right there in the middle of the room, "what do I do? I didn't even cry for them." Logan said while crying. Iris didn't expect this big of a switch in Logan's attitude, but she didn't let that effect her confidence.
She let Logan cry, she knew trying to make him feel better would make it worse, she only acknowledged his feelings, and hugged him.
After Logan let out all the emotions plaguing his mind, his mind felt different, sturdier, and like he could think more things.
His mind wasn't focused on fear, sadness, or regret, it was focused on one thing, "Iris", she stayed with Logan in his worse moment, she didn't try and tell him it was all going to be okay, she acknowledged his feelings.
"Are you doing better now, do you want any water?" As Iris said that, Logan suddenly hugged her, "thank you, thank you so much" he said softly.
Iris was suprised, she was blushing a little but, she had to keep her confidence, "of course" she said in an unwavering tone, "it's only right to help loved ones through difficult times." It took Iris a minute to realize, "I… just… confessed… didn't I" she whispered, he heard her say that because they were still in a hug.
"It's fine, I already knew" Logan said not releasing her. Logan realized earlier that he needed some one for him to rely on, and when Iris said she would support him, he was relieved, and sunk into tears.
"Y-you already knew? B-but" Iris sputtered, Logan knew he had some feelings for her, and he knew that having no one to help him would hurt him in the long run, 'I'm not strong enough to carry the world, I was foolish to try'.
"I also have feelings for you Iris, and I want to support you, because you supported me" Logan said sincerely, his heart was warming up, to a cozy warmth, he hadn't felt this before.
Iris was embarrassed but she still said "I want to support you as well." Logan squeezed her before pulling away, "would you go out with me" he said. Logan had no experience with relationships, but even so he knew he had feelings for her, and wanted to explore them.
"W-hat, y-you want to g-go out with m-me" Iris sputtered, "b-but I'm unattractive, I don't look good", "then why do you like me, I don't look good" Logan said simply, "and besides you just used magic." Logan knew Iris was using magic, both in the swell of mana on her face, and her tone when she said she's unattractive.
"H-how'd you know!?" Iris was shocked, "because I also use magic for my face, and because you're a magical prodigy", Logan knew Iris's expertise with magic, even though she tried to hide it.
The mood was a lot lighter now, and Logan's attention wasn't on the demons or his family, just on this moment.
"Wait, you also use magic to hide your face?" Iris said after the embarrassment wore off, "that means you look even better than right now?" Her embarrassment immediately returned.
Logan chuckled, he didn't expect anyone to think he looked good, both with and without magic, he thought his looked a bit above average, and it would be good mana control practice.
"If that's what you believe." Logan said
"Do you have a answer yet?" He said after a couple of seconds.
"To what? O-oh" Iris said, "I-I-I accept… I-i-if you'll h-have me" she said not able to hide her embarrassment.
"Thank you Iris, for staying with me during hard times." He said wholeheartedly, "I hope or relationship lasts."
"I do too… I love you Logan" Iris said genuinely.
"Oh yeah, do you want to learn magic from me?" Logan said, getting off track.
"Depends, are you good at magic" iris said jokingly. "I think I am, I taught Tess, and look how she turned out."
"Wait you taught Tess!" Iris shouted, "you taught her all she knows?"
"Yeah why?" Logan said suprised. "That means you taught her that one water spell!" Iris said excitedly.
"Which one?" Logan asked curiously. "The one that cleans your clothes" iris said still expectant.
"Oh that one" Logan said, then he continued to teach Iris it.
A bit later, Logan remembered "I need you to not tell anyone that I taught Tess, or that I can use water magic." He told her.
"Okay, but what do you look like without magic?" Iris said also remembering that Logan used magic on his face.
" how about we show each other at the same time." Logan suggested. "Okay, in three. Two. One" they both removed their magic.
Logan saw a beautiful face, fair skin, and eyes that glowed like sapphires, and stunning dark blue hair, that seemed to flow like a waterfall over her shoulders.
Iris saw, long wavy white hair, that seemed to accentuate his sharp jawline, and cool blue eyes that stared intently.
"Beautiful" Logan whispered
"W-wha…" Iris heard him, her face flushed red.
"It's getting late, you should return to your room. Do you want me to walk you?" Logan said, interrupting the scene that just occurred.
"N-no I'm f-fine, t-thank you th-though" Iris said, getting up and walking towards the door.
