Chapter 26 - An Encounter on the Way Home

After leaving the rooftop, Luo Yu happened to run into the two boys who had borrowed his homework that morning. As promised, they handed him the cola they had treated him to, and the three of them returned to the classroom together.

Once seated, Luo Yu noticed that Eriri Spencer Sawamura, sitting in front of him, was buried in her homework. Meanwhile, the seat to his right—belonging to Yukino Yukinoshita—was still empty.

He finished the cola in a few quick gulps and then took out his phone, sending a message to Miko Yotsuya, telling her to go to his house after school and study magic with Ranni first, since he still had a few things to buy.

When Miko Yotsuya received the message in class, she froze for a moment before a wave of nervousness washed over her.

Although she had ridden Torrent together with them the previous night, Luo Yu had been there the entire time.

Now she was supposed to meet Ranni alone.

Just thinking about the dignified and imposing aura that Ranni naturally carried made Miko Yotsuya swallow nervously.

Taking a deep breath, she typed a reply.

Miko Yotsuya:

"Really, Luo Yu? You want me to go there by myself?"

Seeing her response, Luo Yu immediately understood what she was worried about. He smiled and replied.

Luo Yu:

"Don't be afraid. Ranni is just not very good at socializing, but she's actually quite kind. And she spent the entire morning researching teaching methods for you. Just talk to her normally."

Since Luo Yu had said that much, Miko Yotsuya had no real choice.

It wasn't like she could insist on following him while he went shopping.

That would basically be acting spoiled.

And considering the relationship between Luo Yu and Ranni, if she pushed things too far, Ranni might just throw a spell at her the next second.

She might not die—but she would definitely lose half her life.

Holding her phone, Miko Yotsuya looked conflicted, silently hoping that everything would go smoothly in the afternoon.

"Hey, Miko! Why are you spacing out?"

Hearing Hana Yurikawa's voice, Miko Yotsuya quickly put away her phone.

Turning around, she saw Hana Yurikawa walking into the classroom together with a short-haired girl.

Ichika Nakano—the eldest sister among the famous quintuplets who had become quite well known around the school recently.

Miko Yotsuya herself was somewhat quiet and inconspicuous in class, rarely speaking much.

But Hana Yurikawa and Ichika Nakano were quite the opposite.

Not only were they attractive with great figures, they were also cheerful and outgoing, making them very popular.

"Here, Miko! I finally managed to get one!"

Accepting the coffee Hana Yurikawa handed her, Miko Yotsuya said,

"Thank you. Was the school store really that crowded?"

Hana Yurikawa pulled a pork cutlet sandwich from her bag and grinned happily.

"Hehe, they released a new product today, so everyone was rushing to buy it!"

Miko Yotsuya twitched slightly.

"Hana… your appetite is really impressive."

Standing beside them, Ichika Nakano laughed.

"That's true. And she never gains weight no matter how much she eats. A body like that is something every girl would envy."

As she spoke, Ichika reached out and poked Hana Yurikawa's waist, causing the girl to burst into laughter.

Watching their playful interaction, Miko Yotsuya smiled faintly and opened her coffee, taking a sip.

Her earlier nervousness about meeting Ranni later gradually eased.

However, once the final bell of the day rang—

Her anxiety returned immediately.

Hana Yurikawa packed her bag and walked over together with Ichika Nakano.

"Miko, Miko! Want to go to karaoke together? Ichika said her sisters are coming too! I've never met the others before!"

Miko Yotsuya took a breath and smiled apologetically.

"Sorry, Hana. I have something to do today, so I can't go."

"Huh? Again?!"

Hana Yurikawa puffed out her cheeks in frustration.

After putting the last two books into her bag, Miko Yotsuya stood up.

"I'm really sorry. Next time I'll definitely go with you. Bye!"

"Bye…"

Hana Yurikawa waved as she watched Miko Yotsuya leave the classroom, muttering gloomily,

"Why has Miko suddenly become so busy?"

Ichika Nakano narrowed her eyes thoughtfully.

"Usually when girls start acting like that, it means they either have a boyfriend… or someone they like. Now that we're in high school, it's understandable."

"Eh? Really?!"

Hana Yurikawa's eyes widened in disbelief.

"But when did that happen? I've never seen Miko with any boy… Oh! Yesterday! She suddenly ran off right after school yesterday. Could it be a guy from outside school? Ichika, what if Miko got tricked by some bad guy?!"

Ichika Nakano laughed and shook her head.

"Don't panic. I'm only guessing. Maybe she really does have something to do. Come on, we should meet up with my sisters."

"Oh, right!"

Although she was still worried, Hana Yurikawa had other plans for the moment and decided she would call Miko Yotsuya later that evening to check on her.

She couldn't let her friend get deceived by someone suspicious.

Meanwhile, Miko Yotsuya left school and headed toward Luo Yu's house to study magic with Ranni.

As for Luo Yu—

He leisurely left the school grounds, hailed a taxi, and headed toward the commercial district.

He first bought two tablets, then picked up a PlayStation 5 and two Nintendo Switch consoles, along with a large pile of games.

Once everything was purchased, Luo Yu casually stored the items in his personal storage space before heading home.

However, after walking only a few steps, he noticed something at the intersection ahead.

Standing there was a man dressed in black monk-like robes, accompanied by two figures that were clearly not human.

Narrowing his eyes slightly, Luo Yu calmly walked into a nearby milk tea shop.

He decided to buy a few drinks first.

While he was waiting in line, the man at the intersection suddenly turned his head and glanced toward Luo Yu's direction, as if sensing something.

But he couldn't locate the source of the gaze.

"…Was that my imagination?"

Soon after, urged by the two Special Grade cursed spirits beside him, the man crossed the street when the light turned green.

Meanwhile, Luo Yu calmly bought three cups of milk tea, had them packed, and pulled out his phone to call a taxi.

He had already recognized the man.

It was Kenjaku, the mastermind who had taken over the body of the deceased Suguru Geto—one of the most important antagonists in the story of Jujutsu Kaisen.

Luo Yu wasn't afraid of confronting him.

But the time and place weren't appropriate.

So he had deliberately lowered his presence and avoided drawing attention.

After all, as long as he continued living here, their paths would inevitably cross sooner or later.

Carrying the milk tea, Luo Yu got into the taxi and returned home.

The moment he stepped inside, he saw Miko Yotsuya sitting upright on the sofa, listening attentively as Ranni explained the fundamentals of magic.

Her expression was serious and completely focused.

When Ranni noticed Luo Yu return, she paused the lesson.

"My king, welcome back."

Luo Yu smiled and nodded.

"I'm back. I bought milk tea for everyone. Let's take a short break."
