Chapter 15 - Blessed Man

Vivian's POV

After a break up with Bryce, it was not all that uncommon to find Vivian up late at night over thinking. She would often be beating herself up over being hung up over the man. Her heart divided between despising him, and being desperate for him to come back since he was, 'the only person who would ever care about her'. His words not hers.

Then while in the middle of doing that. Vivian would often make things worse for herself by wondering what she could change to make him care for her. If it was not that, then she would be staring at her phone. Waiting for him to reach out and say that he missed her. It was pretty toxic and more than a little sad. A grown woman such as herself, pining away, waiting for a man, pitiful.

But now something had changed and that change had caused a shift in Vivian.

As was often the case whenever she and Bryce were broken up, Vivian was in her bed, wide awake at a time when she should have been sleeping. But unlike all of the other times, when her mind had been consumed by thoughts of her ex. Now she was thinking of something totally different,… someone totally different.

When she had first settled beneath the covers and had gone online, Vivian had had no intentions of looking up Ryan Terrell.

Before their encounter, she had only known the bare minimum about him. But now she found herself studying every scrap of information that she could find about the man's life with the intensity of a university student. One trying desperately not to fail, despite having not touched a book all semester.

She learned that, like her, both of Ryan's parents were dead. It hurt to read that he had a brother who had died a few years before. As someone without any blood relatives left, Vivian knew his pain. But he at least still had his grandfather.

Moving from looking up his family to just him in general. Vivian was once again reminded just how much richer in other aspects Ryan was than her.

Private jets, cruise liners, yachts, massive amount of land, whole islands, satellites orbiting the earth…

The man had a lot. He was truly blessed.

But money was not the only way in which he was blessed. Scrolling through pictures of Ryan.

Vivian found herself salivating. She watched as he pulled off various custom made suits, looking all cool and professional. Those blue eyes of his piercing as they stared into the camera.

Sometimes he did not even have to be looking into the lens, and his intensity could still be felt. Finger in her mouth Vivian could not help the tug of warmth in her lower belly as she came across pictures of a shirtless Ryan Terrell.

Staring particularly hard at one where he was in swim trunks, his body glistening. Vivian felt like reaching into the phone and running her fingers over the waistband of his trunks. She knew what lay hidden beneath the material and she found herself wishing that she could see that beautiful beast again, lay her hands on it. Maybe flick at the head with the tip of her tongue, slip it into her mouth and…

Realizing where her thoughts were going. Vivian threw her phone aside and bit down on her knuckles.

"All right, enough Vivian. You have seen far too much, and you are too tired. That is why you are having such insane thoughts," Laying down on the bed instead of leaning against the headboard. She tried to go to sleep. But she ended up reaching for the phone on the empty side of her bed and she was helpless to stop herself as she pulled it towards her face and began looking him up again.

As with all things when it came to her.

Vivian ended up punishing herself while researching her one night stand. Ryan Terrell was a handsome man. Not only that, he was from a well off family and had also made himself rich in his own right.

His current influence did not come from the fact that his family was old money. So it was a given that attractive women flocked to him, who would not want a piece of that young, rich, powerful man.

It was an intoxicating combination.

The allure of it was proven as Vivian scrolled through many photos. Seeing Ryan with different, beautiful women hanging from his arm. All of them looking at him as though he'd hung the stars, and Vivian despite the nasty curl of jealousy that she could feel in her chest understood the reaction.

With the dicking down that the man had given her, there was no way that she was the only woman to receive such attention from him. All of the women that she could see in the pictures with him definitely made a way better fit when it came to women who were better suited for Ryan Terrell.

They were gorgeous, nothing at all like her.

That quiet truth finally had Vivian switching her phone off and placing it on the nightstand. Ryan Terrell belonged with women who did not have stretch marks, women without an ounce of extra fat on them, women who did not spend their days painting with their fingers and singing at the top of their lungs while little kids followed them around.

He deserved supermodels, actresses and heiresses.

The only reason he'd had her for a single night was because he'd had a little too much to drink.

Now he had probably already forgotten about her. It was best that she do the same, with that thought Vivian closed her eyes and went to sleep. A single tear running down her face and being absorbed by her pillow.
