Matteo gently rubbed his thumb across Adrian's hand.
"Tony called me this morning."
Adrian's expression immediately turned attentive.
"What happened?"
"Kevin is ready to apologize to you," Matteo said, the warm water cascading over their shoulders as he kept his arms looped loosely around Adrian's waist. "Tony wanted to know how I wanted to handle it."
He paused for a moment, letting the steam rise around them before continuing in a softer, more reassuring tone.
"I told him I wasn't going to make that decision for you. The apology is meant for you, so I wanted to hear your opinion first."
Adrian's relaxed posture instantly stiffened at the mention of the name. He looked up, his fingers gripping Matteo's wet forearms as his expression grew cold.
"You seriously don't have to seek my opinion on this, Matteo. Whether he's dead or alive, I don't care."
He swallowed hard, his eyes locking onto his boyfriend's.
