Morning quickly arrived and Arjun was so eager that he did not even want to go to school that day, But skipping school would not be so easy especially with his sister stuck on his tail.
Arjun had to curb his enthusiasm and attend school with no other choice left. He did not want to alarm his parents without money in his hands yet. Karan who seemed to arrive earlier than usual was also in the same mood as him, which was understandable cause neither of them had seen such amount of money in their life, Even for Arjun who had reborn it took him more than 10 years from now to come across such amounts which were not even his.
With the amount of excitement they had they felt time was moving painfully slow, still finally the school was over. Arjun and Karan with a tail behind them quickly ran to Arjun's home to drop off Saritha and hurried to Madan's office to receive the prior agreed amount and sign the NDA.
As soon as they arrived at his father's office Karan ran ahead opening the door and shouting at his father "We are here! We are here! Where is our money?!", Madan was quite alarmed at first but noticing his son and Arjun who was far away in the background glanced at the clock and acknowledged that it was about time their school was done. He was quite happy with their patience to wait out until their school was done although Karan's excitement disappointed him a bit, though it was understandable considering how close Karan and Arjun were from their childhood and their age.
He invited Arjun in and signaled his secretary Bhargav Reddy to bring the contract they had readied in the mean time. As they were signing the contract Madan who was quite curious about what this kid wanted to do with the newly acquired wealth asked him "So Arjun now that you have this amount of money what do you plan to do with them?"
Arjun who was in the process of reviewing the documents stopped and replied "not quite sure but i will save them for now. What about your plans with this idea uncle? how do you plan to proceed." Madan who took quite a liking to this kid explained he was going to their nearby town Vijayawada during this weekend to meet with the local leaders and get this project started as soon as possible.
Arjun who was already looking for an opportunity to go the town quickly convinced Madan to take him alongside him when the time came. Madan was a bit apprehensive at first but agreed to take him if his parents agreed to it. Once done with the procedures both kids came out of the office with immense satisfaction. Arjun took Karan to the nearby Kirana store(General store) and celebrated their first pot of gold by sharing couple of colas and chips. As he took a sip Arjun dearly missed taste of original cola as they were yet to enter the Indian market at this time and most of the cola's in the market were locally produced ones and were quite different from the original taste.
As he was savoring his first cola after rebirth Karan asked him, so how are you going to explain this to uncle and aunt?. Arjun was stuck, yes how to explain? and even if they were convinced would they allow him to keep the money with him? he needed to consider this carefully. Also he was quite sure that this news would be famous in their village my tomorrow. It was already a miracle for this information to not spread today. They soon bore their goodbyes and Arjun returned to his home with quite a lot in his mind. He did not even reply to his Mom until his sister came to him and shook him up.
He understood what had happened and replied to his mom anything is fine ma, to her question of what he wanted to have for his dinner. In his mind having his mother's food was already quite the blessing what was there to consider about type of food, Anything she made was gold.
Dinner time quickly came and as they were at their dining table Arjun broke news about his recently made thirty thousand rupees. Pratap and Kavitha were quite stunned upon learning about this information. Pratap only made around a thousand rupees per month and that was enough for their family of four to live quite a good life in their village and now this 10 year old kid made 30 thousand rupees in a single day? that was his inome for almost 3 years!. meanwhile all Saritha could think about was how many Asha Chocolate(Her favorite candy) she could buy with that amount of money, as she slowly counted on her small little fingures she quickly lost count and hurried to her brother.
Anna when are you going to buy me chocolates, you're not thinking of not giving me any are you? Asked Saritha tugging his pants. Hearing her voice both the adults woke up from their stupor and laughed out loud alongside Arjun. This kid did she want to eat over a lakh chocolates? would they be even finished in her lifetime? As they were laughing about this Arjun took out 10 thousand of the 30 thousand and handed them to his dad and convinced them to leave the rest with him for his future endeavors. It took quite a while as well as almost all his brain cells to convince them about leaving the money with him but finally achieved what he wanted.
The next day Arjun went to school with his sister as usual, as he was listening to his first class which was English Arjun could not get himself to listen to a teacher in a village teaching English to 5th class kids. He was very proficient in English in his past life having been to over 10 Western countries for business negotiations. So he started to ponder over his options on what to do with his twenty thousand rupees.
He could go ahead with many options but things like going into internet industry with meager 20 thousand rupees seemed somewhat ridiculous to him. He was well versed in computer science, it was his major in his past life but without liberalization no matter how much innovative a product was Arjun felt it could not reach the heights he wanted such companies to reach. He did not have enough money for hardware industries either, they were money guzzling companies, just thinking about the amount it would take to start somewhere in the manufacturing industries gave him nightmares and such being the case this was shelved for later date too.
As he was pondering over these he glanced across the calendar in the corner of their classroom. It was mid January in 1989 right now, he only had 2 and half years to get to a strong financial position before liberalization. It was the gold rush he was preparing himself for. It was then he noticed that exams would arrive within the next 3 months. It would be a festive atmosphere for all the students in India (Pun intended). Why not capitalize this opportunity, he could buy a small scale printing press and sell all sorts of books like past year questions, solutions, guide books etc., he was familiar with plenty such books as they exploded in popularity in the coming decade.
Once he realized this he started calculating whether this would be a feasible plan, and the answer was yes! this could work out!! having reached such decision all he needed to do was wait for the coming weekend which was 2 days away. Meanwhile he started preparing pitch to his parents so that they would allow him to start his first printing press in their own village.
