Chapter 249 - Chapter 249: The Golden Light

The Great Toad Sage began hearing countless voices whispering around him, their words overlapping into one another. Some were understandable despite their distorted and chaotic nature, while others seemed to belong to entirely different languages that he neither recognized nor had ever heard throughout his long life.

All of them came together in an inseparable torrent, as though tens of thousands of people were speaking inside his mind at the same time, each struggling to make their own voice rise above the rest.

At the same time, fragmented images of countless different scenes began appearing before him. Some were so distorted that they resembled vague guesses more than actual visions, while others were clear enough for him to grasp a few details before vanishing again with such speed that they left behind nothing more than a fleeting impression.

Amid all this visual and auditory chaos, one thing stood out clearly. Images of the golden-haired young man he had seen before losing control continued to appear over and over again, occupying a greater presence than everything else within the storm. It was as though this individual possessed such significance that he continued to stand out even in the middle of all this overwhelming disorder.

The images that appeared during this turbulent stage revealed glimpses of his future and how he would bring hope to everyone whose life he touched. It was something entirely different from the kind of strength that merely subjugated others. Instead, it was a power that convinced people through their own free will and transformed them from within.

Then, the visions shifted suddenly and violently into something completely different. The same young man appeared again, but this time he was kneeling on the ground, crying out in unbearable grief. His scream spoke of an immense loss, a wound that had reached the depths of his soul, or a terrible price paid for something precious.

The vision changed once more, revealing a scene that was fundamentally different from everything before it. The same young man appeared again, but now he had entered a state that defied simple description . a transcendent existence, as though he had crossed beyond every limit and emerged on the other side. It was as if he himself had become a golden sun, illuminating the entire world around him with warmth and hope.

Even the Great Toad Sage, despite his agonizing condition, felt his own state stabilize slightly from nothing more than a glimpse of that golden light, a radiance capable of filling hearts with warmth, love, and hope.

Another vision of the same golden-haired young man then appeared. Yet the moment it emerged, the Great Toad Sage was overwhelmed by an indescribable change in his emotions. A deep sorrow filled him, though he could not determine its source. Nevertheless, it was unmistakably real.

The radiant figure still stood surrounded by that brilliant aura of hope. It had not diminished; instead, it had grown even stronger. This time, however, he was seated upon an enormous golden throne inside a magnificent royal hall of gold. Yet from the feeling carried by the vision, the Sage understood that the one seated upon that throne was not in a good state. Hidden beneath that majestic appearance was an unbearable burden, as though he were struggling against something unseen in a silent inner battle, leaving him suspended somewhere between life and death.

Then it seemed as though the young man sensed the Great Toad Sage's gaze reaching him through the prophecy. The golden light surrounding him responded to that distant observation, and he somehow suppressed part of the disturbance that the blue third eye had inflicted upon the Sage. The countless voices crowding his mind became quieter, granting him a small pocket of calm that he would never have believed possible amidst such overwhelming torment. The Great Toad Sage even felt a trace of genuine happiness flowing from the golden aura surrounding that mysterious figure.

Yet at the very instant he began to regain a fragment of stability, the vision changed once again, and the Great Toad Sage's instincts were seized by an overwhelming sense of danger unlike anything he had ever experienced.

It was something his instincts rejected with every fiber of their being, warning him not to look any further, as though whatever awaited him in the next vision was a sight beyond his capacity to endure.
