In a dark chamber buried deep beneath the earth, Sophia knelt with her eyes closed. Darkness enveloped her from every side, while the air carried the chilling cold of the underground depths. It was the place best suited to her and the nature of her daily training. Resting before her lay her katana.
Her father had informed her that the Inner Training World was finally complete and that she should prepare herself, for she would soon enter it. She would become the very first member of the Walt family to set foot upon its land, the first to confront what lay within it, and the first to experience what her father had described as a danger that was genuine even for someone at her level.
That was because the vast world her father had created was inhabited by primitive creatures that had evolved into beings of extraordinary power. The immense quantity of natural energy infused into that world since its creation had allowed the lifeforms born there to grow and evolve over hundreds of thousands of years, reaching astonishing levels of strength.
What further intensified Sophia's seriousness and her excitement at the same time was what her father had told her: within that world existed an enormous number of entities that were at her level, many of them vastly stronger than she was, and even stronger than all of her siblings combined.
Her father had designed the world that way deliberately. He had never intended for the Walt family to wander through it like tourists, collecting easy experiences before returning home with a sense of comfort and security. He wanted a world where danger was real, because genuine challenges were what drove true growth.
None of them resembled their father. He was an extraordinary individual who could forge his own path forward at every stage, discovering solutions within himself without needing obstacles or external pressure.
The path of his sons and daughters was fundamentally different from his own. They could not imitate his journey because his path was unique to him, and the reasons behind his success simply did not apply to them. Their true road lay elsewhere: confronting hardships beyond their current limits and using them as whetstones upon which to sharpen themselves. The Inner World their father had built was precisely that whetstone, carefully designed to carry them into the next stage of their respective paths.
Sophia remained motionless in the dark chamber deep beneath the earth, her sword resting before her and her long hair cascading around her as she meditated in silence, elevating her mental readiness to its highest possible level.
