I found that notion of restricting Miles' movement to be… worthless.
Even if his reputation was dragged to the ground, he was still untouchable because his business was in a sector that didn't need public opinion at all.
Anok seemed to sense my lukewarm reception, and added, "Trust me, girl. It might seem small, but this small jab at his reputation will eventually become his downfall."
I couldn't help but smile at her assurance.
It might be a small drop of ink in a big bucket, but even one drop per day would be enough to ruin the bucket.
"Thank you, Anok. You're truly a lifesaver," I said. Though, I was mostly thankful for her mindfulness.
She really cared for me through her actions, like a real friend.
"Aw, shucks, don't make this awkward," Anok laughed before putting the snacks on the table. "Now, why don't we have some brunch before getting our lunch somewhere?"
