"If he is truly in love with you, then why did he force you to sign a pet contract?"
That question was so simple, but it actually hit me hard. Ray was nothing but sweet and caring now, but he wasn't like that before.
He was domineering, cruel, and impatient. At that time, I was truly forced to sign a pet contract because I had no way out. If I didn't sign it, then Miles and Clarissa would forge fake evidence just so I'd be arrested again and put on trial.
I would never be able to meet my daughter, and I knew that Aurora's life would be even more miserable if she ended up with Clarissa.
Thus, I did what I had to do to protect my daughter, even at the cost of my own freedom.
Luckily, things turned out well in the end. Ray didn't do anything bad to me. He simply wanted company, and he happened to tolerate me.
