Ethan noticed it immediately because the sender's domain wasn't ordinary. It belonged to Aurelian Capital, a global investment group that controlled billions across technology, infrastructure, and logistics.
Very few people received direct communication from them.
Ethan read the message twice.
Private summit. Zurich. Invitation only.
He leaned back in the leather chair of his office, the city lights glowing through the tall windows behind him. For a moment he allowed himself a rare pause.
Two months ago he had been fighting off small competitors.
Now billion-dollar firms were inviting him into their circle.
Across the table Aria closed her laptop.
"You're smiling," she observed.
Ethan slid the tablet across the table.
She read the message.
Her eyebrows rose slightly.
"This is… serious."
"Yes."
Cara, who had been leaning casually near the window, walked over and read the message as well.
"Zurich," she said with a quiet whistle. "You're moving fast."
Ethan stood and walked toward the window, looking down at the glowing network of streets below.
"Fast is necessary."
Aria studied him carefully.
"You realize what this means," she said.
"They're evaluating me."
Cara shook her head.
"No."
She smiled faintly.
"They're deciding whether to fear you or invest in you."
Silence settled in the room.
Then Ethan spoke again.
