Chapter 33 - The Power Difference - Life-Form Level - Chapter 33

Three days passed in Morthal; other than chatting with Jonna and spending his time making potions in the tradershop of Elix, Marcus did not spend much time with others.

He learned how to cast the Candlelight spell with great power too. It was a lot easier than learning how to cast Conjuration Spells or Illusion Spells due to his understanding of alteration being a little higher.

In a sense, he knew that and understood that in this world his race is "Breton." This made him have more connection to the Conjuration School of Magic.

If he were to put in a ranking system.

He is at best in alchemy, then alteration.

Conjuration and Destruction are about the same level, and he is particularly finding it hard to cast and understand Illusion and Restoration spells.

"It seems like I do need more knowledge and spells."

Marcus sat down on the chair and drank and ate some snacks while he thought and planned.

While he thought about everything, he noticed a robed man entering the inn.

"Finally."

Marcus thought and nodded.

Falion, the man that he was after and wanted to meet with did not strangely come to his sister Inn that much.

He went to talk with Jonna, and at the same time, Marcus got up from his seat and went to the side of Jonna.

He pretended to be ordering a drink.

At the same time, Falion looked at him and asked.

"Oh."

"I sense that you have a great pool of magicka."

"Are you a mage by any chance?"

Falion spoke.

Marcus knew that this was a chance.

"I am just a novice."

"Right now, I work mainly in alchemy."

Falion nodded.

"I am Falion, a master conjurer and brother of Jonna."

"What is your name?"

Marcus smiled.

"I am happy to meet such a master like you."

"My name is Marcus."

Falion nodded.

"Just to be putting it there, I do teach Conjuration Magic and have many spellbooks in my collection if you want to."

Marcus nodded.

After some talk, Falion and Marcus sat down together as Falion came to his side.

"Truth to be told, Marcus."

"Morthal is not a great place to live for most folk."

Marcus nodded and listened.

"But I do have to say that people like you and me have a great deal of chances here."

"Our magic services are worth a lot here..."

Marcus then asked.

"Have you been to Winterhold College?"

Falion smirked and then asked.

"Why do you ask?"

Marcus then smiled and took a sip from his beer.

"It would be pretty unexpected for a mage your caliber to not have any contact with Winterhold College."

Falion nodded.

"You are not wrong."

He then took a sip from his beer and ate a small piece of cheese and then spoke.

"I am a master of the conjuration school of magic."

"I taught there before, and now one of my students, Phinix Gestor, took my place."

"I do not like how management of the college and especially Savos Aren..."

"So, I left."

Marcus nodded.

He wanted to ask about magic and other types of theories, but Falion already put that in place.

"If you want to ask about magic and learn, prepare to pay the price for it."

Basically, Falion was used to people who wanted to be mages and other mages seeking knowledge, and he put a price on this knowledge.

Just because they are in a tavern and sitting, drinking, does not mean that they can ask about everything and not pay for it.

After about one hour later, Falion pointed out his home and where he hangs out usually and then left the tavern.

After Falion left, Marcus closed his eyes for a moment and then nodded.

"The difference between knowledge and understanding of magic."

"The magicka pool, controlling the magicka itself..."

"Everything is a lot easier to feel and see in this life."

Marcus did not know for certain.

After some training and meditation, he managed to increase his magicka to 190 points within his mind and soul.

But, when he spoke to Falion, he could sense that his magicka pool was a lot more powerful and filled than his own.

One would expect a master-level conjuration mage to have around five hundred to seven hundred Magicka.

But this was not like that.

Marcus felt that the amount of magicka Falion had should be more than three to five thousand.

Basically.

The difference in power between a novice-level mage and a master-level mage is the difference between two separate life forms.

If one is a bug, the other is a human being.

Even a thousand novice-level mages could not handle a mage at the level of Falion at all.

"Now."

"I understand why powerful mages in the lore are almost at the level of gods and demigods."

"If what I sense is true."

"The total difference in power compared to me should be about four to five hundred times."

"I wonder what kind of things I would sense in a powerful warrior or assassin."
