Nathan ran as fast as he could but the hounds were faster. They caught up with him constantly.
After a while, he ran into a building. Nathan ran through a semi-open metal gate. On his left was a metal staircase which he climbed.
At the end of the staircase was a room. In there was a couch and he placed Sara on the couch.
He got out and noticed the hounds were coming his way. From about seven feet, Nathan jumped down. He landed so hard he kneed himself in the face.
He fell but quickly got back up and continued running. As he ran deeper into the building he saw about three coiled up sheets of steel.
He continued running when he noticed a fire axe hanging on the wall. He grabbed it and ran back to the steel sheets. Using the axe he cut of bind holding the coil.
Immediately both binds were cut, meters of sheets shot out like a compressed spring. The noise caught the hound's attention.
Nathan cut the rest of the binds and hid. The place was dark but when the hellhounds arrived he knew.
The sounds they made walking on the sheet gave him a precise location of where they were. He tipped toes as he walked toward the sound.
Unlike him, the hellhound saw perfectly in the dark. One turned and noticed Nathan headed in its direction.
The hound pounced on him. Using the kinetic energy of the pounce. Nathan kicked it off him as he fell.
'Maybe coming here was a bad idea,' he thought as he got up and looked around for it.
Even in the light the hellhounds were different to see. When they were not moving they looked like dark smokes. On the move, they were harder to see especially in the dark.
Not being able to hear the footsteps of the hellhound because it was nowhere near the steel sheets. Nathan swung the blade randomly. All the while he walked back to where the sheets were.
He heard the sheet rustle from behind and quickly turned. He pointed the blade in that direction and the hound stopped.
The only source of light were rays of moonlight than shined through holes in the roof. He slowly walked from one spotlight to another.
As he slowly walked away he strained his eyes but that did not help. Growls and groans filled the dark silence.
When he was closer to the back door he turned and ran. The hounds then chased after him.
He hid and stabbed one in the neck as they ran out. The surge ran through it and it dropped dead.
The other hounds started barking. They attempted to get closer but leapt back every time Nathan turned in their direction.
'They seem upset, this might be their leader,' Nathan thought as he stared down the hellhounds.
